Comms now saying how tough the pitch and conditions are for Rashid.

GAGFCs - if Hauritz had his figures in the second dig they'd be saying he's schoolboy standard.

Not that he isn't schoolboy stuff, but this bloke's Hauritz's mirror image as a bowler.

Neither is a Test match bowler, simple as that. Rashid might develop into one, I suppose. He also has a shot at becoming a batting all-rounder.

Have to say, I agree.

Too much hype just 'cause he's a leggie. Infinitely better batter then bowler. If we're going to go for a batting-spinner would much rather Samit Patel, to be honest.

Time is certainly on his side, and he does hit the ball really well tbh. Might end up a very handy 6 or more likely 7 who bowls some useful stuff without being yer frontline slowie.

Grecian, haven't seen t'other fella tbh.

This is horrible to watch now. Undoing a lot of the good work the first three days did for the case of more FC cricket on telly.

Took a five-wicket haul for Notts not long ago.

I'd love him in the team, and he completes the balance of the side perfectly, but he's too fat. End of story I'm afraid, for now.

Both Rashid & Patel need to develop their game, then we can talk about their chances of playing for England.

Whereas, Hauritz is the only spinner in the Aussie side ATM.

Patel averages just shy of 50 in FC cricket with the bat.

If he's to play for England, it should be as a specialist batsman.

With North given the opportunity to bowl before Hauritz I am confident to state that Hauritz won't be playing the 1st Test.

Hughes
Katich
Ponting
Hussey
Clarke
North
Haddin
Johnson
Lee
Clark
Siddle

The XI most people probably expected. Plenty of question marks over the form of many of the players, but definetly the strongest side Australia can field.

Not thrilled with Lee and Clark in the team together atm. One guy lacking match fitness on his way back is one thing, two, when your spinning options are part timers, is tempting fate imo.

Haha, North makes 191* and practically no-one utters a word. You are amazing sometimes CricketWeb.

Really enjoyed this game. The Lions were quality to watch. :)

Pretty unnecessary carping at the umpire from Ponting there. It didn't his the foot on the full and looked to be sliding down.

Bugger. Think Jeff Evans has collapsed! Doctor on the pitch.

Tbf, he wasn't exactly being bagged by everyone here when out of touch. I think everyone agreed already that he should play the first test so there's not a lot to be said.
