Think you're confusing the Jimmy Anderson of 18-24 months ago to the Jimmy Anderson of today. He is now accurate, has superb control of the swinging ball and swings it both ways at pace both conventional and reverse. I'd say he's as good as Jones who was pretty over-rated after 1 exceptional series. Anderson's been consistently doing it for the last 12 months.
Not really no. Anderson today is still pretty inaccurate, watch the test match against the WI at Lords and you will know what Im talking about. Just because he takes wickets doesnt mean that hes bowling with needle accuracy. He is more accurate than he used to be 18-24 months ago, but his biggest improvement is that he is a better bowler now when the ball is not swinging than he used to be.

And Jones maybe overrated, but it doesn't change the fact that he was bloody good in that series, and the preceding series against Bangladesh. He's been extremely unfortunate in terms of injuries, but when hes returned to play CC hes still been peerless.

Yeah, that was great ball from Lee to get rid of Solanki, just been awesome since the ball has started to reverse for him, would give a bowl to Johnson now, and see whether the ball reverses for him too.

4th for Lee. Moore gone, Haddin made up for the catch he dropped earlier as well. Fine innings from Moore though, well played.

Dale, you were talking before on Ponting's decision to bat first - Punter said at the toss he thought it was going to swing around early on and wanted to give the batsmen some practice. Just ftr. :)
Had missed that, tbf, so in those terms it was a success of sorts.

Been top stuff from Lee, this spell. Would be wilfully perverse to leave him out after this. Might give North a trundle to seal the deal if I were Ponting; Hauritz scalping the tail would muddy the water.

Irresistible stuff, didn't think he still had it in him but won't get carried away until the Test match.
Clark to get dropped, and they'll play Hauritz.
Think Sids could be in some trouble myself, would be massively unlucky.

Yeah I said last week or so that I had a bad feeling they'd leave Clark out for Hauritz and pick Johnson, Siddle and Lee. I've got a bit of faith now though, I'm expecting/hoping for four seamers.
