Group F - Ireland, Pakistan, New Zealand, Sri Lanka

Don't want to be patronising to Ireland as I'm sure they're properly gutted not to force the win, but they can take genuine pride in that performance.

SL had one "M" too many.

Ireland lost it more than SL winning it .... I believe that one should set up a chase like it is 18 overs so if anything goes wrong you still have 2 overs
They maybe could have gone after the powerplay overs a little more. It's hard to make the ground back up in T20 if you let the run rate get on top of you.

Still, it's hard to plan against bowling of the quality of Murali and Mendis, and especially Malinga. They only lost by nine runs- just one overstep from Malinga, a full toss instead of a yorker going the distance or a few more extras could have made the difference. But at the death he didn't bowl a remotely bad one whatsoever.

Yeah good effort by Ireland, good for NZ to as we would of had to beat SL anyway and now we wont have to beat them convincingly.

Tough ask you would have to say for NZ to get through now, but they should take plenty from the Irish performance today. Need to hammer the opening bowlers though and hope they bowl Kulasekera for his full allocation.

Anyway. Thanks to the Irish

Sri Lanka 2 2 0 0 0 4 +0.700 294/40.0 266/40.0
New Zealand 2 1 1 0 0 2 +0.943 297/40.0 215/33.1

NZ just needs to beat SL by a single run and we go through on NRR. To almost certainly join Pakistan (unless they lose to Ireland).

Not really just any sort of win, this was a pretty fantastic result for NZ. NRR isn't an issue in our final match anymore.

I don't think it would of made much difference is Ireland won, we still would of had to beat Sri Lanka anyway, unless of course it is a rained out game as we are now just behind on run rate.

Can someone smarter than me list what needs to happen for EACH team to advance? Meaning who they have to beat and by how much?
