Why? United's best player is leaving and he certainly wasn't a chance of going to Eastlands, win/win as far as I see it...
Wasn't there talk of a huge bid by Man City for him as well a couple months ago? I guess Ronaldo would never have left for a club like Man City anyway would he, so it's a bit of a non-starter isn't it.

Will be interesting to see who they splash their money on.

They wouldn't have even bid, it's all tabloid bull****, like most of the other 500 players they've been linked with in the last week and a half.

Can't see any big name other than Tevez (less likely now) and Eto'o (been rumblings that he wants a payday). Other than that, no elite player will come and that will likely seal the exit of Robinho by the end of the season.

Maybe united should now pay off their ridiculous debts. If I was their bank and they went and spent that money on speculative investments (new players), then I'd forclose!

Actually that would be nice to see.........can picture the headline "Padlocks on Old Trafford as recievers Liquidate Man U"....ah that would be lovely. :)

Geez, I'd take Ribery and run. No Ronaldo but still an awesome player.

Not that annoyed really, £80m is ****ing loads. Makes the rest of the summer interesting because we'll surely sign a replacement or two. Keeping Tevez is more important now, and I'd have ****ing hated him to go to Citeh.

Seen Liverpool's finances?

Not that disappointed really - was always happening sooner or later, and £80m is obviously ridiculous money.

Was a fantastic player for us, and I think all United fans should remember that and be grateful to him for it.

As people have said, Real Madrid are still not going to win anything, whether we do or not is another matter, though I'm still quietly confident.

Well, they reckon Madrid still have another 80 million to spend. Need some shoring up at the back if they're to be competitive for the highest honours. The Touré bros would be ideal, if you ask me, both unsettled at their respective clubs, and I don't mean Ibrahim.

Still don't want Tevez. Would be fine with Rossi back, one of Sneijder or van der Vaart and a winger in. Add to that Welbeck and Tosic getting more games.

why the hell don't you want Tevez?
He's not as good as he thinks he is. Can get someone who'll do more for cheaper. Better version of Alan Smith he is.:@

N.B: Not been fond of him since he's come. Made Rossi leave. Add to that Solskjaer retiring the same summer and Smith leaving which is meh.

Would be fine with Rossi back to replace him. :)

Where is the money coming from? Madrid fans think they can recoup the money on merchandise within a season but....The spanish government like the good old days

Forbes recently put his net worth recently at 1.2 billion, so is he really pulling 15-20% of his total worth during a global reccession to buy two players? Doesn't make sense given the tight credit market.
