Group B - Pakistan, England, Netherlands

State Captain
DL Par for the end of over 13 is 120.

So if it ended at 13 overs, England would be attributed 120 from 13 overs, and Pakistan would be attributed 89 from 13 for the purposes of the NRR calculation.
Jeez.. That simple.. Kool.. :) I think the game will finish... without D/L

King Pietersen

International Captain
Wouldn't have to bowl him out? He bowled better than Swann I thought. A much improved performance, wasn't bowling constantly short like the other night against Holland.

So whats the gist? :)
The gist is that if it gets rained off after 7 overs, England make 185/5, and Pakistan are 44/3, then what goes into the runrate boxes are "44 off 7 overs" for Pakistan, and "74 off 7 overs" (or whatever the DL equivalent is) for England.

Don't need to worry, anyway. Not getting rained out.

Depends on which match is won by more runs, Eng v Pak or Net v Pak.

Yeah, Pakistan should be slogging it now. The game's gone but any runs they score now they don't need to score against the Netherlands.

The bigger the margin of defeat now, the bigger the margin of victory needs to be on Tuesday. Precise calculations can only be made after the first innings on Tuesday. Dutch in with a great chance actually, because the margin today will be big. England have qualified regardless of what happens on Tuesday..

No because if they just wildly thrash at the spinners they could lose by a big margin. This way they can win if things come off, otherwise they lose by a smallish margin.
It doesn't matter how much they lose by, AFAIK what matters is how quickly they score the runs that they do make. Or are the run rates extrapolated to 20 overs these days?

KP, England are through if they win.
