Thought he had a very good game in an alien position, centre-forward. It was subdued Messi but he worked hard, linked-up fantastically with the midfield and still had time to do one outrageous piece of skill, when he killed a rocket fired in his vicinity mid-air dead (great header as well). Rightly, the Barca midfield has got most of the plaudits but I thought Eto’o was fantastic, gave Vidic a nightmare. Always questions around him against pace and power (Torres tore him a new one) but for a player of his undoubted quality, he was rank. Rio didn’t look at the races as well.

Fergie should put a fork in Giggs and Scholes...

You have to be U21 when qualifying starts. Not sure why they don't just call it U23 though.

Thierry pretty much has a complete set of trophies doesn't he? Must be in the running for the most decorated player in Europe right now.

Not sure he'd have the most honours in total, but between France and all his clubs he's probably got the widest range - he's won pretty much all he could have now at least once. Great player and well deserved.
