Couldn't agree more - in an Ashes Summer I have better things to do with my occasional, tough to negotiate, periods of control of the TV than watch that sort of display

Yup. Cruijff in 92 (last European Cup) was younger though.Youngest since Champions League started as well.
Not a fan of restarting stats when a competition is rebranded, though (kicker didn't bother to go further back than 95), so I'll note that Fagan (84), Barton (82) and Muñoz (60) all managed it in their first season.

I actually didn't think Messi was that good, he had his moments and was far better than most United players but he was outshone by most of his team mates, save the goal.

Got exposed and shown up by a guy playing on one leg.
First 8 minutes were good but after that it was just a training ground kick around. Nice to watch but it was so easy.
