Yeah, more rubbish bowling from him, gets Sarwan:)

I think he's bowled okay, tbh, attacking fields mean runs are going to come. Taking top-class wickets on a flat pitch, good for him.

Good ton by Sarwan too.

That was a really good piece of hostile bowling by Broad. Yes it was surprising that Sarwan played it so poorly but the one that got him out was superbly directed and got "big" on him. And I suspect that the reason he was playing at it rather than leaving it was because he didn't want to get hit on the head as happened yesterday.

What is the point of Bresnan? 54 overs gone and he has only bowled 24 balls.
Another terrible selection in a long line of recent terrible selections. Doesnt deserve to on the same park as these guys.

However, I see the logic a little bit with Flitoff out. Playing against a moderately weak side they didnt need an extra specialist batsman and didnt need an extra specialist bowler so they brought in a young player to add a little depth to both.

Flawed logic but I see it.

Broad's been pretty rubbish apart from that wicket.
Yeah he has, he is going at all most five an over.
I've been one of his critics on this forum and others but he does have a knack for vital wickets. He may not stack up on the average front but he does get the job done through often clever thinking. The question is whether England can afford a bowler with such a poor average. However, do they have a choice?

I dont really rate Broad at the moment, but I dont mind him in the side. However, it is a crime that he is given the new ball IMO. Personally, I would give the new ball to Onions instead.

That average will and is coming down though. I cannot see him averaging 38-40 in 12 months time. He's shown clear improvements in the last 5-6 months, and I think the experience earned from bowling on flat tracks will really hold him in good esteem for the rest of his career. I'm a big fan of Stuart Broad, and I'm glad they've stuck with him, can see him having a very long Test career.

Onions gets his first of the game. Superb bowling to a tail-ender, just get it straight at decent pace. Been impressed with him in both his performances.

Yeah Onions could arguably be the England selectors best selection this decade. Not sure if that says much at all about them, but I quite like what I see from him thus far. Certainly, given the options they had available to them, I think they've made a good choice.

Broad's innings average here has been 29.5, and this has been one of his better spells. The fact is that he does not pick up many wickets. He may get prized wickets and I'm not doubting the value of such, but he will not run through sides, or at least, hasn't to date. Broad is capable of a good spell, heck, a very good spell, but he seems incapable of stringing many good spells together.

Broad strikes me as an intelligent bowler, without the tools or the accuracy to take wickets at present. However, if he can modify his action to take advantage of his height and work on getting the ball to swing, he could become a world class bowler. A taller Dwayne Bravo perhaps.

Superb stuff from Lil Ramo for the 2nd innings in a row. He has looked very good at the crease ever since his maiden century at Barbados. He's been looking the business as vice captain.

Nah, best selection of the decade is Trescothick. He's been battering county attacks for fun over the last two seasons since he retired from international cricket and he still averages over 5 more in tests than in first-class cricket.
