Just as an idea, could we not have the running updates for th next tranche of voting? Think they encourage tactical rather than honest voting; seems a heck of coincidence Miandad suddenly got a raft of votes after the last count was posted. :detective

At least the tacticians would have to do their own running score if they want to buck the system without the updates.

Spot the whining Compton fan. :p

Yeah, I'm fine with that but the main reason I post updates is to keep the thread near the top of the list in order to encourage participation. Have any ideas as to other ways in which this can be accomplished?

2. Jack Hobbs
3. Garry Sobers
4. Sachin Tendulkar
5. Viv Richards

This is the inherent problem with this format and there is no way you can avoid this. Thats why I had suggested the alternative right at the beginning but . . .

Maybe you could set a time limit (24/36/48 hours) and give updates as to how long's left? Tricky tho, yeah.

Anyway, this again please:

1) DCS Compton
2) KF Barrington

Constrasting MOs, the dashing, devil-may-care brylcreem boy and the austere accumulator, but would kill for either in our current set up.

The lack of Barrington love surprising, really. Sure, he was primarily defensive, but nearly 7000 test runs at over 58.5 shows the end surely justified the means.
