CricketWeb Tennis - Season I

Chubb

International Regular
Probably, but Andueza-Emelio have had pretty good success as a doubles outfit. Should never have lost to Daneu-Petkoviä anyway.

For this week, this is what I have. Tell me if I missed anything out:

Båstad
Drake
Maxum
Korpinen
(Oxenstierna WD)

Stuttgart
Smeltz
Hancianu

Manta
Mustard
Bowenburg
Stakhanov
Banks

If you want doubles, just ask and I'll give some options. :)
Think de Wet should be at Stuttgart unless I've misunderstood this. Cheers.

Thats a ridiculously good effort again SBI. This sim is epic a shame it doesnt seem to have as much support as it deserves.

Naa believe everything is done manually. It is a huge effort, deserves more praise than he's getting.

Think the lay off period and subsequent return has coincided with the BOTM? Still, wins my vote, super stuff SBI

Yeah it is done manually, but it doesn't take all that much time now that I've got all the templates and everything for rankings and stuff. That used to take ages as well. Also, this current system of having where every one is going makes making draws a lot easier for me.

Oh, and it also coincided with two massive law assignments being due last week.

MercedesCup
Qualifying - Stuttgart

CWLand's Jarkko Maxum could be forgiven for being disheartened following his qualifying loss to Samuel Thorpe on Sunday, but would later earn a reprieve following news that eighth seed Patrick Pascaul had withdrawn with a knee complaint. Maxum was beaten by the American in three sets in an odd qualifying round fixture; after two contrasting sets the match was decided in a tiebreaker. The 6-2 1-6 7-6(2) defeat would, however, end up being a blessing for the youngster who now faces a first round clash with Slovakian Andrej Konc instead of the clash with sixth seed Sanchez Emelio he would have faced had he won.

  • Qualifiers: Marc Carretero; Fok Zhenyu; Marcus Heindrich; Samuel Thorpe
  • Lucky Loser: Jarkko Maxum (replacing Patrick Pascaul).

Catella Swedish Open
Qualifying - Båstad

CWLander Martti Korpinen has missed out on qualifying for the main draw of the Catella Swedish Open after a shock loss to Swedish unknown Zlatko Pettersson. Korpinen had previously accounted for local wildcard Magnus Stahre in straight sets, but was frustrating in his loss to the inexperienced Swede - crashing out 6-3 3-6 6-2. Meanwhile, once ranked as high as 20th in the world, Johan Ortiz has had to rely on a lucky loser inclusion to the main draw after he was stunned by Anders Helgostam in the qualifying round.

  • Qualifiers: Gjorgi Dinov; Anders Helgostam; Zlatko Pettersson; Javier Villaneuva
  • Lucky Loser: Johan Ortiz (replacing Takis Georgilas)

V Manta Open - Trofeo Ricardo Delgado Aray
Qualifying - Manta

CWLander Vladimir Stakhanov has earned qualification to the main draw of the Challenger in Equador after a straight sets win over local Michael Chala in the final. Drawn against two Equadorians over the weekend, Stakhanov played good tennis to drop just one set as the top seed. Meanwhile, fellow CWLander Randy Banks failed to earn his first start in a main draw after he gave up a one set lead against Chile's Alexis Aguilera to crash out in three. It was a disappointing exit for Banks who just now focus on his doubles campaign over the coming week.

  • Qualifiers: Alexis Aguilera; Javier Espinoza; Radaslaw Marzec; Vladimir Stakhanov.

Last call for doubles.

Smeltz, Heug is available in Stuttgart if you wish.

Banks, you've received offers from American Waylon Jones, Czech Pavel Polak and South African Oliver Thursfield. You can also go with Bowenburg if he wants doubles - not sure, though.

Loving the work, obviously I'm on for doubles, hoping to make another impact. Singles is atrocious for me at the moment.

Banks how about it?? If you are up for doubles I'll join you whenever we are playing at the same locations.

These are the tournaments where we are both keen to play:
Manta, Pickford and CW Open.
