Watched my first IPL innings last night, went to bed at half time of the first game.

Very happy with Nannes' efforts there. Good stuff. Smith led a great recovery. I wanted to stay up and watch the second dig, but I sipped my cuppa and thought better of it. Not bad entertainment though.

Trouble is if they get rid of him who do they open the bowling with?

They need a lot more from the Indian players, they foreign players can't do everything.
Yeah like their Foreign players have been setting up records after records :-

Cricinfo - Records - Indian Premier League, 2009 - Rajasthan Royals - Most runs
Cricinfo - Records - Indian Premier League, 2009 - Rajasthan Royals - Most wickets

Two matches that they have won is because of Indian Players.

Yeah, it is a strange one.

Also, does Quiney have a problem moving? Saw him in the last game and he was so slow in the outfield, I thought it was Graeme Smith for a minute.
He's usually a super fielder, but has had hip problems in the past.

Cricinfo - "Buffalo Park in East London is the home of the Warriors franchise in South Africa".

It's not.

And you rest Bravo but go for Napier over McLaren.

Hope Graham does well though. :)

The foreign players haven't done anything with the bat yet, but even still unless they hit a big score it won't make any difference because the batting lineup is so weak generally.

MI finish at 148 powered by Duminy's knock .... Duminy is the ideal player to play anchor's role and then finish it off when acceleration is needed at his end

I was surprised to learn that Bhajji was promoted to #3 despite Ist wkt falling in the 4th over! I know that the pp are on for 6 overs but Bhajji would be more suited to come in when the ball is 8-10 overs old. If they had to promote someone to step up the scoring inside the first 8-10 overs then they should have sent in Nayar or Napier [though I don't know much abt him]

will 148 be enough? it's a total where the fielding side has to bowl and field well to defend it, while the batting side has to play sensible cricket by pacing the inning well and not losing too many wkts early on

Dont like either of these two teams, So I will be happy no matter who wins. Close one though, Chances are that KR are going to win it.

No McCullum yet. Shukla (who?) sent in before him.

Good to see Hodge in the runs, such a top 20/20 batsman.

Yes happy to see Hodge back in form. Disappointed with people rubbishing him as a Twenty20 batsman. God he the leading run-scorer of all time in the format. Incredibly smart bat in this game.

Big names like Smith and Morkel has done nothing in this IPL but Abdullah, JP, van Wyk did pretty well for their teams...

Abdullah has 11 wickets from 6 games now. WOW! Who would have expected this?
Well he did come into the IPL as one of the 5 best bowlers in 20/20 cricket but after his first two games, it didn't look too good for him.

Great to see him doing so well. :)
