In a terrible season for me so far, the highlight thus far has unquestionably been Fui Fui putting his size 14 footprint all over Karmichael "I tell the Judiciary I never ever do shoulder charges and that's how a I get off suspensions" Hunt. Bloody hilarious when Hunt tried to shoulder charge Fui, and it coincided with my other highlight, namely our one line break for the year. Happy days.

Well who knows? Despite my not liking the Emperor, and notwithstanding the terrorgraph's campaign against him, the organisation has an asset base which should see it through its current cash flow dramas. He deserves some credit for that.

I can see real problems ahead if the new board think they need to demonstrate immediate results, because realistically it isn't going to happen. But, like Anderson, they have a real opportunity here, because the problems with the football team aren't of their making, so they have carte blanche to make changes there.

Word is they're looking at getting Tony Zappia back from the Sharks as CEO. I mean, they're really going well, aren't they? I hope they don't jus tthink walking into the sheds and saying "Have a go you lot" means things will be turned around. First thing they can do is hopefully find a forward who isn't the exact same body shape and size as every other forward at the club. That might help. Reckon they should buy Dave Taylor asap.

Hopefully one of them can find out WTF is wrong with Krishnan Inu? I mean the bloke's a massive talent, just doesn't seem interested. And I don't see it as an ego thing for him, he seems almost bereft of ego. Something's not right there.

Anyway, I don't know if they have the answers, but it certainly seemes as though the joint was in major need of a clean out, from the top down.

One thing I've liked about Parra this year has been the return of Grothe. Still damaging in attack when he gets going, and isn't coming up with the horrible defensive plays he used to pull a couple of times a game. Doesn't seem to be putting his band before his footy anymore either.

Will be out for a while with his back injury though. Didnt look good.

No tips higher than 6 this week, and surprisingly! (:p) no-one managed to tip the Melbourne/Warriors draw. Wright had his first poor round of the seaon, and had the lowest score of just 3, allowing Blewy to sneak past him on bonus points.

Round 8 Fixtures:
Eels v Cowboys
Sea Eagles v Storm
Titans v Rabbitohs
Sharks v Roosters
Knights v Broncos
Raiders v Panthers
Dragons v Warriors
Bulldogs v Tigers

It's been 11 years since I've felt this confident, early doors in the season, of a Broncos premiership. I knew we'd win when the comp came back together in 1998, and I can already smell the sweet aroma of premiership glory this season too.

98 we clearly had the best team, 92 was the same, was obvious we were going to win the premiership as we were so far in front of everyone else. Cant see it being a similar case this year as injuries, suspension etc... play too much of a role. Plus its only April. We are going good now but I'd prefer to be going average now and playing like this in September.

We easily have the best back line in the comp but I wouldn't say we are certainties for the title yet.
Our forward pack is good but we really can't afford too many injuries.

I am really impressed with the forward leadership of Thaiday, Parker and Kenny and I think McCullough is absolutely terrific. The team loses momentum when Gorrell comes on for him.

Agree re Gorrell, every team does it too. Parra now with Robson coming on for one of the Keating boys, Ballin always goes off for L'Estrange for Manly, nearly every team carry a second dummy half on the bench and they nearly always lose momentum and the game changes when they go off. It seems to be a case of taking them off for the sake of it.
