Yeah well done with the constant updates Brockley. Great to have someone contribute who is so on the ball.

Cowan would do well down in Tasmania. Suprising that Western Australia don't make an offer for him. Not sure if he is well rated on this forum, I don't mind him, think he will score heavy at some stage.

Tassie need an opener and tbh I would rate Dawson and Wells as openers ahead of Cowan. Worth shot though as he is talented batsmen just needs to find his feet at FC level. Just think he more of middle order batsmen then opener.

Will be interesting couple of weeks cricket australia and the ACA need to work out the memorandum of understanding, under the scope is the additional T20 games, player and comercial workload, and 25 contracts are iup to vote whether to increase or decrease, and players ratings and world cup T20 squad released soon.
So the official silly season could be extended, with the official trading season not in option to april 30.
The release of the 25 contracted players is to be released soon with some tipped to be cut and some players to take a huge paycut.

According to the cricket australia site jason floros has joined south australia, seems they are getting amongst the canberra youngsters.
Floros batting in the middle order in y\the youth aussie test, seems like he is a bit of an allrounder.
may well challenge cullen and bailey for a spot.

Floros is a very good left handed middle order batsman, scored 70 in the youth one dayer the other day against India. Bowls decent little offies, gives the ball a lot of flight, hes no one near a front line bowler even in grade cricket though.

Hes a gun indoor cricketer too. Interestingly last year became the first player ever to be player of the series in the under 18's Aussie championships and the Open Mens championship in the same year. Has a very good head on his shoulders.

Good news, this guy sounds like a gun, and being a Redbacks fan.

Keep the info coming mate.

Great signing for the Tigers in Ed Cowan. I have already mentioned in this thread that I rate Cowan very highly. Always looked like he has underperformed for NSW, think he is capable of more. Solid technique, good temperament.

Would be interested in hearing more on Maher and Day. Will they be likely to play for Tasmania? The article suggests so. Can't have been that high up the pecking order for NSW, plenty of opportunities for fast bowlers at the Blues over the past couple of seasons.

Matt Day played a bit of Aus U/19s, I think. Was the "wrong year" for the U/19 WC though, so may have missed out. Already captains his Grade side, I believe.

Matt Day got a lot of potential and got head on his shoulders. Could make it if he got a decent run. Maher basically a good hard grade cricketer, not sure if he has it in him to make it to the next level, but you never know. Day was on the pecking order, just didn't have the x-factor other players have. Probably should have been given a try in 2nds atleast though.

Not sure if it is a good or bad thing when playing for Aus U19 doesn't mean your seen as potential state player. Probably says something about the selection policy. The search for a type of player then just a good talent.

I really wish Cowan had gone to a state he'd be likely to bat in the middle order for. Don't think he's suited to opening despite the fact that he always does it.

Heard of matt day.
Sad to lose cowan never really it it tho, wonder who will be the back up opener then, maybe warner.
I am hoping warner gets a cricket australia contract.
The 25 names will be released after the pakistan series.
Poor dave hussey not been home to talk to tom moody yet,i guess their's always the phone.
Think victoria will have to cut some players cam white and brad hodge both likely to lose their ca contracts and mcgain won't get one.

Vics say they won't release hodge or dave hussey who are contracted to victoria.West australia interested.
Tassie we're interested in lloyd marsh but now they got cowan they won't be bothered.
Nick jewell says he will play on for another season.
Will be interested what the vics will do with their contracted players, with hodge and white unlikely to get CA contracts vics would have 20/21 contracted players, and i think the most you can have is 20.
Victoria may struggle to get under the salary cap this time, have to cut 3/4 players dunno who.

Didn't think that there was a limit on the number of players that the states could contract. A while ago Victoria had 8 rookie contracted players, there's no way that they had only 20 contracted players.

There'd be a few nervous Victorians going about.
