Hundred for Ian Bell. Perfect start to the season for him. Really putting himself firmly into the selectors minds, and with a good few games left before the first Windies Test, he could really be in contention. Can see him scoring alot of runs at the start of this season!

Perfect except for the failure in the more meaningful game where the bowling was decent.

If the selectors manage to summon up some small level of competency then they wouldn't take any notice of The New Ramprakash's latest soft run feast.

Still... in the absence of any of his competitors putting runs on the board... Vaughan also failed in the MCC match and doesn't play CC this week, Shah and Bopara are both sunning themselves in South Africa... and apparently the squad for the test is picked on Sunday.

A guy with no temperament like Bell is a waste of space.

These university games should not have First Class status. Allowing the likes of Glover to pick up hatfuls of cheap wickets against sub-standard opposition just devalues the whole thing for me.
