Yeah, spose its a good sign that I can't really think of anyone that had a great game but we won. Lennon was threatening but his final ball was piss poor, Ashley Cole was abysmal. James was James. Rooney was lively without being at his best and Gerrard was ok. Barry was passable but was lucky not to give a pen away and getting booked so early didn't help his game. Lampard was ok as was Crouch.

Based on what we have seen so far in Capello time in charge. I think its clear what he has got in his mind what the best England XI & what specific tactics he likes to employ.

For example:

- He is unlikely to even start Rooney alone up front. Wazza will always play behind a target man.

- Barry is his most lets say "trusted mid-fielder", him being a left-footer helps in that sense as well.

- Becks will remain an impact sub on the right. Joe Cole/Walcott will start out there all the time when fit again.

Which i can 100% agree with. Only position issues England have are the keeper & right back.

Johnson only has looked good againts the average nations, Richards needs more game time @ city in that position again & Brown who remains the safest best ATM don't know if many has faith in him in that role @ international level just yet.

I'd willing to throw out the wild card that Hargreaves will be playing right-back for England pretty soon.

For the keeper, James im sure worries all of us that if he last until the WC he could make a stupid blunder againts a major side in a big match. Would love Foster to become number 1, perfect scenario would be for VDS to retire this season. If not i can live with Green starting.

I'm the first to admit I don't watch as much EPL as I would like, and I particularly have only watched a handful of Hammers games in recent years. But every time I've seen Green he's either had a spectacular game or come across as very solid without needing to do too much.

Did I only see the very best he has to offer? Have I missed some clangers somewhere? James looks like he'll make a mistake at any moment whenever I've seen him.

He has had the odd poor match, but what goalkeeper doesn't nowadays with the beach balls they have to play with?

He's a good option in my opinion.

Not for any special reason, no. It's just as insulting as the middle finger when you're in certain countries, mostly UK/Ireland/Aussie/SA/NZ. So yeah, they were doing it directed at the team officials and they were doing it obviously. Childish and stupid really.

Have to say I thought Tottenham's pen all round was dodgy. It looked debatable as to whether or not it was a handball and no way should Robbie Keane's penalty attempt stood. It wasn't on the mark (since it rolled forward) and Keane should of retaken it. That said he probably would of scored anyway.

However, Blackburn's players are dropping like flies. Not sure on the depth, but MGP looks like he will be out for a couple of weeks and Jason Robertson is struggling out there.

Allardyce's masterplan, stick Chris Samba upfront.

Although to be fair to Chris, his actually causing some trouble.

Well given who Blackburn's manager is I'd say they deserve to lose.
:lol::lol:

Credit where credit is due. No one would have thought Samba could go well up front. Allerdyce did, and he set up the first and had a hand in the second (although how Ooijer was so free is anyone's guess). Allerdyce is keeping up a team that looked doomed at the foot of the table a few months ago. What a dead set legend

Having one of those beautiful days as a supporter. Aus, Panthers, Swans and Rovers all getting victories within 24 hours of each other :D Aint life grand.

BARNES OUT
Want to kill Gelson. Yeah ****, complain all you like about not getting minutes to the media. Wanna know why you don't play? 'cause you hit the post 1-on-1 with no semblance of defensive pressure.

Terrible first half at St James' Park. Ivanovic is no right-back, he makes Coloccini look quick and he can't pass the ball. Give the game 10 more minutes and then I'll stick the rugby on.
