Someone younger might have saved that.

Anyway that's what happens when you spend the second half pissing about.
No chance. That's back of the net before he's even moved.

The problem there was Rio & Johnson being stood on each other's toes at the corner, Ferdinand ducking at the last second and letting it hit Johnson to fall to Sheva eight yards out.

Err yea if you count 35 minutes and counting as a moment.

And no the ball hadn't even hit the net by the time James got his arms in the right place.

I have just rewound and watched that again, five times.

Okay - he moves before it hits the net, but he reacts as quickly as any keeper could reasonably be expected to, and it's just past him. The only way he could have stopped it would have been if he had not initially reacted to the rebound off Johnson... and then he would have been out of place had Shevchenko opened his body in response.

Sorry, but no way is that the keeper's problem.

Not an error or problem exactly, just a younger keeper would react quicker and that might have been enough to get something on it.

Hmm, didn't study James' movements too closely but the first thing I wondered was what the centre-backs were doing.

Looks like it's not going to matter now anyway. Not a great performance, but a win will do

Well done England, we missed Lennon when he was taking off, but we dominated the game except for one iffy set piece.

World Cup here we come:)

Which one do you support? I know you're from the North but plenty of Norn Iron folk that I know support the Republic.

Spurs' new stadium looks like a smaller version of Ashburton grove. Massive lol at some of the comments I read before from their fans about how it would put our stadium to shame.

Ordinary performance, but it's results that count in qualifiers.

Our defence is shocking tho.
Harsh only Cole had a shocker & Johnson again looked a bit lame againts a solid side at right-back.

Given how Spain played in Turkey i'd say, England where pretty solid.

The reading in the last couple of pages of this thread just doesn't seem complete. Why hasn't Scaly ripped into Gerrard yet?
