I don't think that's as clear cut a bad decision as they're making out. Definitely could have hit leg stump IMO. Benefit probably should have gone with the batsman, yeah, but it wasn't a howler.

Yeah sort of agree. I think its the wrong decision, and hence there's no real excuse for that, but the commentators are exaggerating it a bit.

Oram is going to be the X-factor here. Match will come down to how well he does later.

Hawkeye says out. No decision that Hawkeye vindicates can possibly be that egregious. I've seen a lot worse decisions.

Well if they were all given out like that it'd be fine but in the interests of match-to-match consistency, you wouldn't expect to get out like that.

As I said, I don't think it was as bad a decision as the commentators were making out by any stretch, but it shouldn't have been given.

Yeah, fair call. Looking at the replays, it wasn't quite as bad as my first impression live.

My main problem is that Gary Baxter is overly keen to not be seen as NZ biased. If you watch him closely, for every moderately close appeal he goes for the visiting team. Watching that one live I thought it was going down leg, and yet I knew it would be given.

All was needed was one and others would come.
Proving true.

McCullum's run out was the pivotal point. For new batsman to keep going at that rate is tough. Not impossible (as shown by SA and NZ before), but very very tough.

Game over.
But enough of this bull**** that India is far superior to NZ. NZ showed today that they can more than foot it with the big boys on such a pitch, just missing some experience under pressure.
Of course 400 is always tough, but I'm sick of all these Indian fanboys thinking that all India have to do is turn up.

These teams are a lot closer.
Batting IND > NZL
Bowling NZL > IND
Although NZL bowling has been pretty ****house this series.

Oram could still make things interesting though, but the loss of wickets have put NZ all but out of the game.
