If Wato's is fit and in form, how long before we risk giving him a test and whose place does he take/ The obvious answer would be McDonald and presumeably he would bat above North and Haddin. But that leaves Haddin at 8 and Johnson at 9, just too much batting. If McGain looked in touch you could do a swap of North\Watson and McDonald/McGain but North looks as likely a bowler as McGain does at the moment.

Imagine Lee back in that side for Hilfenhaus, surely he would come in at 10 now below Johnson.

Lee is no guarantee to get back. He looked average against the Saffers.

Impressive stuff from the prince who will one day be king. He has taken to test cricket in a big way young Hughes. Hasn't held back his natural attacking game, and is dominating the number one team in the world. Big career awaits this kid, scary how young he is.

I don't mind how he can bat ugly, sense of unpredictability about the way he bats. Just as likely to play a textbook cover drive as he is some ugly swipe over point.

Watto can't bowl for another few months yet, would have to prove he has some bowling form behind him before coming straight in. He'll be in the Ashes squad though.

What about bringing Phil Jacques back and pushing Katich back down the order? And I don't think a team can ever have to much batting. Having Johnson and Haddin that low is good because atleast they have the power to score quick runs.

Yeah. I rate North's bowling more than most seem to but McGain's definitely the better bowler.
