But apparentely youre around the Aces team a bit, so you should know that Guptil is very average as a 4 day player and as we've seen a very good player in T20/ODIs. This is simply because he has figured out how to play those versions quicker. So why not let him develop further in first class and then come up when his game is more polished....thats what me mate Dave reckons and he's a guru

That was for the 2020s. I simply said that because I believe Southee is very one-paced. That makes him cannon fodder for the likes of Sehwag, Dhoni and Raina. Thompson has a much better armoury of slower balls. I think the Indians would find it harder to smear Thompson to all corners.

In my opinion, batting is batting. The way I see it, Guptill is better than How in all forms.

Please tell me what i have said in my last post that is incorrect? If Jimmy GS is as 'connected' as he suggests then maybe he should know that there is quite a difference between Guptil the white clothed player and Guptill the Coloured clothing player.

He would then be a bit smarter, you would think, than to say Butler is better than Mills at batting? or Thompson is better than Southee atm. Or Franklin isnt up to it. How many Test centuries has he got?

Yes you could argue that im being harsh here and perhaps i am but come on in some ways i expect more from him 'as he's supposed to be cricketer' than i do the rest of us wannabes who wish we could be there. In essence we all know **** all and just have our opinions which carry no weight...

Guptill ave 28 with 1 1st class century

This with Hows Ave of 23 in test cricket dragging him down.

How is a serious player as is Guptill. Both are our long term openers. However with Guptill unable to play the big shots in tests he doesnt have the game yet. Plus Guptill cant play spin...yet.... and needs games in ODIs to change that. Experience will cure this

Never gets a game as he is a 4 day specialist, and only gets a run when the big guns are away.

Cant knock him though, hes down at the basin everyday bowling.

Not much chop though.
