Love this time of year, 2 months of footy left, we're still in the mixer so it's gonna be exciting

Unfortunately what looked like it was going to be an exciting title race has already ended, so nothing much to see there, relegation fight in the Prem will be good though
As will watching the scraps for up & down in the other divisons. Thoroughly enjoying still being in the mixer in March!

You know, after the way our seasons have fizzled through March & April in recent years, I'd probably take just having a chance of something on the last day, even if it ultimately ended in disappointment, that being said I will deny ever making this comment + the whites are going up

What a difference a week makes

Hopefully I will perform a similar volte-face on Tuesday

I'm pretty fickle hey

I think I want to believe it's over when things aren't going well so I'm not holding on to unrealistic hopes. ITBT I'm still harbouring dreams of automatic promotion

Until it's mathematically impossible I should hope so too - mind you even then a quick dip into administration for someone and the odd unregistered player and .................. where there's life there's hope!

In 04-05 we had a good side (Iain Hume, Ryan Taylor, Paul Hall, Mark Rankine, Gareth Roberts etc) and were challenging for promotion all season. Basically it was between Luton, Hull & us for the two automatic spots.

Well Hull beat us at our place in March to pretty much nail us in for 3rd place, they cemented this on Easter Saturday. We were 2-1 up at Chesterfield and they were 1-0 down somewhere (I think it was Doncaster, might just be making that up). It was about 4.50 and all of a sudden you're thinking, well, we might still catch them...except that both Chesterfield & Hull scored last-gasp equalisers and that was that :(

Well anyway, a couple of weeks later I was on the Tranmere forum (won't post there naymore, too many Birkenhead ****heads) and I see a thread, "Hull go into administration!"

So I opened it, and all there was was a link with the same title, I clicked on it and am taken to a news site, that does indeed have the headline "Hull go into administration"

So my phone is in my hand straight away, I was dialling one of the lads pretty much there and then, and then I realised that actually it was one of the Rugby League sides that had gone into admin (I think Brumby supports Hull FC, so he might be able to confirm) and an awful, awful trick had been played on us all

We better get bastard penalties after this turd. I want neither team to win and, clearly, both teams feel the same.

It was indeed, big match coming up on Tuesday at the New Gay (sniggers). TBH we'll probably lose with the Shrews home record and our recent away results, but we're in a position now where it won't be a disaster and anything we get could be massive.

Your lot are by far the best team we've played this year (apart from bizarrely Chesterfield, who obviously don't play like they did against us every week), I reckon you are certainties to go up. It's three from 7 after that........

Oh btw that 12 year old ref, Atwell is a ****ing joke.....
We had him a few weeks ago, he sent off one our players after really early on and then spent the rest of the game giving freekicks to us and booking Notts County players.

I have seen us muck up promotion many times that I'm still not totally confident but that was always to get into the Championship. Think we have everything needed to get out of this division, just want to keep this current from going and not be taking it to the last couple of games, I felt ill enough watching us hold on against a 10 man Bury on Saturday.

Oldham V Leeds, it's like a lower-league version of Everton-Bolton for me, there is no real winner

Hey dav, I'm free of all avatar debts, we play you in a few weeks. I got the dates mixed up earlier in the thread and IIRC we've already agreed to a bet in principle - still on?

Yeah 4sure. What was it again?

Have a nasty feeling about tonight, and its not just the kit. Would be more confident if it was at Leeds. Should have gone really, was playing football till half six so didn't think i'd get back in time but could have just about made it in the end.
