Ha, wonderful. Offering viagra and/or enlargement of the old chap, no doubt.

&, ashamed as I am, I actually quite like a bit of Kenny now and again. I blame a C&W loving father.
He's OK in small doses. 'Ruby' was probably quite political in its way, which you wouldn't expect from a C&Wer at the time. Wasn't it one of his that controversially kept 'God Save the Queen' off the number one spot during Jubilee week? But yes, he does tell a good yarn.

Back to the cricket, whilst personal milestones shouldn't matter too much, Cook really needs to reach 3 figures today and I hope he doesn't mess up.

EDIT
fwiw said 1977 Rogers track was 'Lucille'.

Cook on 80, bloody hell, must have a nosebleed

I wonder if we get a huge score there will be a debate about the follow-on?

Would love to see Strauss get a double, long way off obv but this seems a good chance to get it done

On the one hand, great to see England doing so well and making such good use of a favourable pitch.

On the other hand, unless something dramatic happens, this looks like a dead duck draw pitch which will remove any chance of England winning the series. Which is, of course, exactly what the WI would have wanted it to be at 1-0 up, and a good use of their home prerogative.

At a guess i'd say we'll declare far too early in our first innings so we won't get a huge score. (we'll declare about 550 or there about)
Aye. England regularly throw away a few win/draw percentage points with bad decision making over declarations and following-on.

Another outstanding and dominant session. Think any declaration that we may have to contemplate will depend how quickly our runs are scored. To finsih the day somewhere near 350 with the loss of few wickets will give us a great platform to really push on tomorrow, in the proper fashion.

Excellent opportunity for Cook to reach three figures, could not have gone much better today....so far.

Agree with this, I'm glad to see Strauss being a bit more attacking recently. I hate it when we get bogged down. I'm really liking our top 5 atm.
Were you glad to see it when it nearly wrecked his career in 2006 and 2007?

Anyway, seems an astonishing partnership this, bet Gayle is regretting that miss. Have there been any further let-offs? (I've been at the gym since Lunch)

What a ball, ouch
Certainly ball of the series so far methinks, possibly may remain that way. Although it always makes a ball look even better when a batsman falls over like that.

Do hope Shah doesn't waste this chance. Won't often get two pitches as flat as this to play your first two Tests as a first-choice on.

I'm talking value to the team, and I think he adds more value to the team playing with a little more intent. I'll be glad if he's developed his game to the stage where he can do this successfully.

Taylor's ball to Prior in the first Test was awesome as well.

In the long run, seeing a bit of swing could be a positive for England, although obviously not a guarantee that the ball will do so for them.

Anyway, well batted Andrew Strauss.
