Does Rohit Sharma Deserve his place in the indian 20/20 side?

Personally i dont think he belongs there would prefer to see an Uthappa or someone like that in the side

He deserves a few more matches in the Twenty20 side, yes. However, we need to explore other options in the one-day side if he continues to disappoint.

There's a far bigger issue here- have Indians forgotten how to bat in T20? We've seen them play recklessly when they've barely scored two runs, and they've all got out cheaply. They've all lacked temperament, and this has happened in the last two matches including this one. They're trying to hit a six off every ball, ignoring the value of the big innings.

thankfully raina had his head screwed in and i think dhoni got a decnt ball and yuvi needs to get some practise against the slower bowlers

Rohit hasn't really done much to stake his claim in this Indian side in T20's or in ODI's. Virat Kohli and Robin Uthappa would be feeling pretty good about their chances of making a comeback into the Indian XI.

Yeah, I'd recall Uthappa to the T20 squad and Kohli to the ODI side unless things change dramatically for Sharma over the course of this series.

more than 160 is decent enough in t20, you are right that it is the bowling that was pathetic today...Yusuf Pathan is a trash bowler in any form of the game...

Nope, Badrinath is far more technically correct than Rohit Sharma. Compare Badrinath's FC average of around 56 to Rohit's average of around 38 and you'll know the difference. Rohit maybe very talented and would probably be the better limited overs player, but he definitely hasn't proved anything at the First Class level or in ODI's and T20's for India.

Any more failures and his position would come under real scrutiny. They won't replace him with Badrinath because they don't pick him, but Virat Kohli and Robin Uthappa are certain replacements if Rohit Sharma continues to perform poorly.

Uthappa isn't much of a T20 player IMO, someone like Dhawan seems like a much more attractive option in both T20 and 50 over cricket

Badrinath is just a Renji-level player, and he lacks the genuine-skills which is a bonus for an International player.He might be a hard worker like siddu,Dravid, saurav, dhoni,kumble etc, but R'Sharma is a natural-talent (or genuinely skilled) like Vishwanath,Azhar, Kapil,Sachin,Sehwag,VVS, Yuvraj etc and he will just get better with more and more exposure. As they say,"form is temporary,but class is permanent"

There's no point arguing about one or two players supposedly not good enough. The whole team, especially the best players, are desperately struggling for form, and that needs to be addressed. This is not a time to keep dropping and chopping; it's counterproductive. We don't see questions raised about Kiwi selections too often; they've settled with their best team, and they're doing well with those players. They need to go back to the drawing board and look to change the way they play, and a change in personnel will take the team backwards.

You stated that Rohit Sharma is more technically correct than Badrinath, to which I replied as it's not a correct statement at all.

Also has Badrinath really been given a decent chance at International level? How do you know he is just a 'Ranji Level Player'? As far as I'm aware, he's been the leading run getter for India A against many other International A sides comprising of players who are now currently playing for their national teams.

If he's given a chance, I think he would do fine. But has he really been given a fair shake at international level?
