I don't think any of those attacks tbh where as good or in form as this attack. Some decent ones there, no doubt though. Though the fact that you can only find a handful shows how hit and miss he really is.

Queensland struggling here, they need a big score against this batting line up.
:wallbash:

He brought up four different situations, you had a go at him for one.

Hopes has done far better for QLD at the top of the order in ODIs than he has at any other position. In fact he has been one of our top scorers.

He's terrible against spin and has a reasonable technique against the quick men. Every batsman fails occasionally - especially all rounders.

Out of interest you think there is reason why he averages in the low 30s as an opening batsmen. Whereas other top opening batsmen average mid to high 30s, or 40 plus. Ian Harvey had a similar at the top of the order for Victoria and batted better there then anywhere else. Doesn't make him a quality opener.

He really hasn't played there very much. I only looked at the last two seasons (not including the current) and a lot of the time a combination of Maher, Hayden (when he was out of the ODI side), Broad and Watson have often gone in ahead of him. He batted a lot of 5 during that time, so much so that it really surprised me.

Looking like a tight finish down at the MCG. Victoria have a deep tail though.

I watched the Queensland innings down at the ground. Victoria's fielding and bowling effort was A+. Harwood is truly one of this countries finest bowlers in the shorter formats of the game. Mixture of pace, searing bouncers and some inner mongrel make him so dangerous. Nasty twisted ankle though near the end of the innings.

Credit to Hartley who appears to remember he can hold a bat. Held the Queensland innings together along with Batticciotto. Victoria a touch unlucky for the two pacemen to go down injured near the end of the innings leaving White and Hussey to bowl at the depth.

Vics making a real meal of this, they should have chased this target down easily, but now they are deep ****, gotta say Bulls shouldn't lose this from here, but having said that Crosthwaite is a very decent OD batsman, and McKay, Harwood too can hang in there.

I'll be filthy if that cheating **** Crossthwaite gets Victoria home here.

Edit:; ****'s out now :D

With Victoria bottling this chase and doing similar things twice in the T20 comp v NSW, one wonders what's gone wrong with a team which was clearly the best around in limited overs forms the past few years.

Might also explain why Aus batter **** int he ODIs recently, having White & Hussyet in the middle order in their current form. That "shot" from White tonight was a capital offence - utterly dire.

Nah.

Been some good captaincy from Simpson with the bowling changes etc, must be said.
