Not sure what people are so worried apart from Jaques and Thornley none of other guys would make our starting XI. Very much a 2nd string batting line up and 3rd string side bowling attack.

I mean c'mon mate, still they should have done better than what they did, they should have fared better against an attack comprising of McKay, Hastings, Hodge and Wright.

In other news, Warriors continue with their woeful batting effort at the Bellerive, in their 2nd innings they are 8/97, Duval virtually running through their batting order, and he currently has four wickets to his name.

Still given the batting woes of both the side in this game, if the Warriors add another 30-40 runs tomorrow, they might still make a game of it.

TBH though with that batting line anything over 300 would have been a fluke or a Jaques, against one lead by McKay and Wright. 200 about right for that batting line up.

I love Duval's action. Future Aussie player for sure.
Yeah he has a pretty strong action, and he does look like a decent prospect, and the Tassies atm seem to forming a pretty good core group of fast bowlers.

They have blokes like Geeves, Hilfenhaus, Duval, Denton, Drew, Butterworth, to pick from, now that's a pretty good pool of fast bowlers to pick from.

Clint Mckay, what a legend.... Just keeps taking wickets in both form of the game.

Any chance for a national caalup in the near future? Pakistan one day series?

This is about the worst time for Australian State sides when touring parties are departing and there is also a Twenty20 match on that night, where they lose up a full team with injuries included. I want to know how the Second XI's get by when the FC team take all their players. Just call up local first graders or do they have enough players in their pools to cover for these times?

Duval virtually running through their batting order
He was playing Second XI last week and for a few weeks before that wasn't he?

What do you mean?

There's no such restriction that you have to pick all your players from the state squad.
I just want to know where they call up all the players from. Say they call them up from the Second XI, where do the players who come into the Second XI come from? Do they have a large player pool from which there are many extra's who they can call in, or do they call up first graders from the bigger cities (eg Sydney, Brisbane etc)?

Nah, they pick them from Bourke 3rd XI.

Of course they pick people from Sydney Grade cricket. You know, the competition where all the state players take part in when they aren't playing for their state.

I think he meant Tasmanian players, where they call up players from country grade comps at times and when they have had lots of injuries in the past they try and sign 2nd XI cricketers or fringe 2nd XI cricketers from other states.

In the past it not that uncommon to see guys outside the Hobart grade scene get called up. Though they have better depth now.

Seriously, how ridiculously often does Hopes get out trying to pull fast bowlers over the infield in one day cricket? Put the shot away James; you're terrible at it.

How often does Hopes get beaten by a spinner. I'd say at least one in every three balls.

Well it seems Tamworth Grade cricket is also an option.....

True, but really don't know why Hopes still is opening the innings for the Bulls, he is going to bat in the middle order for Australia, and therefore he should be doing the same for the Bulls.

Anyways good win for the Redbacks, they have a very young team full of young talent and good to see them a bit of spunk this season, after the dismal season they had last year, and it would be great if they can build on this next season.

Saw George bowl for the first time today, was really impressed with the kind of bounce he got, looks like someone who can develop into a very good bowler with age, a stint at the COE too would do him a lot of good.
