The Cult Of Grant Elliott

Days of Grace

International Captain
I will also join the cult!

I see him as a no.5. Even though he is God, six hitting at the death is not his speciality. But he is the best at rotating the strike in the middle overs, so no.5 it is.

McCullum may be cool, but likeable is hardly the first word which comes to mind when his name is mentioned.

Fair enough. Seemed a genuinely nice bloke when I spoke to him though.

Grant Elliott; lowest skinfolds in world cricket?
He and Chris Martin pre-2005/6 vying for the title, I feel. I'm pretty sure I heard the figure "low 70s" kg-wise bandied about for Martin prior to bulking up a couple of seasons back. That's just madness.

lol maybe he should stick to his gameplan which is not slogging like he showed tonight still a talented ODI player 1 bad brainless innings doesnt change that

Went from 73kg to 82kg in his own words iirc

Interesting to note that he has consistently been in a healthy weight-range while most of his teammates are overweight itbt

JimmyGS commented a while ago that all bar 2 of the current NZ squad are "officially overweight" (BMI I assume), but surely it'd have to be 3, Guptill, Elliot and O'Brien are all skin and bone imo

Saw Guptill in Adelaide and he looks pretty muscled-up in person, giving him a higher BMI.

BMI loses relevance with anyone who does serious exercise anyway. It obviously doesn't allow for muscle.

Yeap your'e right about that, alot of the NFL players are considered over weight. You have 5"10 running backs that weigh around 220-230 pounds. And there is no way you can call them overweight.

Saw Guptill from about 3 feet away for several minutes at my local indoor cricket centre, weedy as. Might have a bit of lean muscle going on but very gangly imo.

Actually JimmyGS was talking about the NZ ODI squad vs West Indies, so I reckon it would've been Guptill and Elliot (O'Brien wasn't in the squad)

Not much of a cult when it's members can't find a million extenuating circumstances to explain a bad night :)
