The fact that Klinger has been ignored all summer for the likes of White and Warner has really annoyed and stumped me, so I agree on that one.

Agree to disagree on Hopes though, I just don't reckon he is up to it.
Does Klinger's OD game really give you confidence that he would be a success in ODI Cricket?

IMO no, happy to be proven otherwise though.

Picking Klinger over White etc is not the problem, but the symptom of the terrible theory that bits and pieces players are worth more than specialists. This terrible theory is the big problem.

Let's just wait until he finishes his second season before you drop to your knees, Flem. His shot to get out in the one-day final says to me he still needs a lot more time.
I wouldn't pick him yet, but my point is Cumming is not really an OD option (age against him too for the WC) and he's more of a tests guy imo. I'd rather see someone like Williamson than Cumming in the side (and over Skippy too) though my preffered next in line would be Watling or Styris (though his form post WC is a worry).

Btw, just to gloat everybody, Elliott the bits and pieces back up jack of all trades allrounder scored his 100 at four, na na na na na :p

He's been rather consistent in the one day arena for quite some time from what I have seen.

Then how come Flintoff didn't take 40 wickets in the 06-07 Ashes?

FTR, I think Fred deserved the award in 05 anyway, given his team won and he was the best mint chewer in the side.
Unconnected but Fred's form in 06-07 was nowhere near that of 05.

The name Klinger somehow gets on my nerves than any other name, English or subcontinental. Just like scratching your fingernails on a blackboard.... I like the player, just wish he had a different name.

Good on Grant Elliott. Proving to be such a gun ODI player. Under-rated for mine.
Didn't really give anyone a reason to rate him up until 2 matches ago tbh.

Rate White, but I think India may have hurt his confidence somewhat, one of the cleanest strikers of the ball in Aus when in form. Voges in at 7, Ferguson to 4 imo.

That's surprising. Thought he would have played more tbh.
He seems to have been there for ages now, but in reality he has only been a permanent member of the Aus ODI side since the Super series in 2005, so its really not been that long.
