Why the hell don't Channel 9 get someone like Jeremy Coney in the box to help balance things out?

Anyway, can an Australian explain to me why Callum Ferguson is being picked to bat at #7 when he's a specialist batsman? I'm sure there's an all-rounder who could perform the same #7 batting role with equal aplomb but provide a bit of bowling variation. Katich, for example. I just don't get that selection.

What happened to someone saying Warner would play all games?
It is for the best that Warner is not playing. Although at the rate Australia is changing openers, Nathan Bracken will be opening the batting and the bowling, Sir Garry Sobers-esque.

Hell even Martin Crowe or Mark Richardson would do. Better then some random like James Bradshaw.

I'm nervous.

A 3 - 0 scorecard is in sight, and that is making me even more edgy.

Getting a little twitchy and my palms are starting to sweat.

Anyway, for the stats geeks, who is the last team to win the toss and bowl first in Sydney in either Tests or ODIs? Must be going back a long time as I thought it was a general rule, win toss and bat first in Sydney. However, New Zealand prefer chasing and given that NZ are 2-0 up, I'm confident in Dan Vettori.

I believe in Harvey Dent.

He was superb.
Yeah, I think #5's his spot. Even the runs he scored at #7 were more in the role of a #5 as he came in after colapses. He should really be kept away from the Test squad but he's going to be a really valuable OD player. The sooner you realise this Athlai, the better. :p

Fulton actually looked in pretty good touch but he simply doesn't have the placement and soft hands to really be an ODI player without hitting over the top a lot.

Haha my top team would be:

McCullum
Ryder
Guptill
Taylor
Fulton
Broom
Oram
Mills
Vettori
Southee
O'Brien

12th man Patel

Anything happens to any of those batsman Elliott is in the team.

Haha, Benaud trying to track back Mills's improvement as a bowler to his batting of all things. I don't think he's on the money there; Mills's breakthrough tour was South Africa a few years back and I don't think he did much with the bat on it either.

I agree, I thought it was a bit strange last game to put him down the order, especially on debut when he might be reluctant to throw his wicket way going for runs in the latter overs. Give him a chance to spend some time in the middle.
