Damn, wish I was at the game at the Basin. Instead, I'm stuck at work...

By the way, who was the genius who scheduled a Twenty20 game in Wellington on the same day as the opening day of the sevens? ****ing idiotic.

Congrats on missing the point.
Haha well may as well have them both on, T20 doesn't last very long so I could see few fans going to both. And everyone is on holiday so people who couldn't get a ticket to the 7's could go to the cricket. Isn't like all of Wellington is sitting in the cake tin.

Northern setting 120 means they have a defendable target, Canterbury should destroy them though.

Franklin gooooone.

Game over.

Wellington destroyed. Canterbury needing 65 runs from 10.3 overs with 6 wickets in hand.

Pinga off to a flyer against the might of the Auckland attack.

And goooooone.

Any idea why Sinclair isn't playing today?
Twenty20 is all about the spectacle of the event. That'd be ruined if Sinclair played as Auckland would have no chance.

Seriously though, I have no idea. Quite disappointed when I checked the scorecard. Pinga did well though so Flem will be happy.

Thompson is playing a blinder here.

Besides the top 3 this is a pretty poor looking CD batting line up, they're lucky Thompson is playing out his skin here. This match should be a cracker.

Get this man into the BlackCaps as a bowler who can throw the bat, ffs.
I don't understand how Diremanti > Thompson in the selectors eyes.

Yeah deffo, I'd play him ahead of Jeets in Australia. Jeets is a spinner and we have a better one and Australia doesn't really cater to spinners.

Hurts his average, he can still field though.

Was at the Wellington vs. Otago 20:20 today. Otago were easily the best team, but one player stood out for me as being WORST IN SHOW

Give a round of applause to Dewayne Bowden

Not content with bowling pies, he dropped a catch off Mark Houghton after running in too far, having to back track and then succeeded in knocking the ball over the boundary for six.

He then dropped a sitter a couple of overs later. Thanks to those two dropped catches, Hamish Rutherford scored another 40 odd runs.

And to rub salt into the wound, he batted dreadfully too.

Mark Houghton didn't have the best of games and was taken apart after Bowden dropped Rutherford. He was out first ball, but at least he was caught on the boundary going for a big hit.

Wagner looked a very good bowler actually. Today was the first time I'd seen him bowl and he looks to have a very clean, fluid action and looks a bit quicker than I'd been led to believe.
