International Debutant
Haha, reaping the fruits.

Mitchell Johnson has finally come of age.

He's a great swing bowler and a specialist ODI bowler with the best control since Glenn McGrath if not better. He can put the ball of a penny everytime and is a excellent death bowler. He also has the best inswinger since in cricket history.

And this series win should put to stop all the blame heaped on the SA quota system for good. The system might have taken its time to churn out good players, however, certainly brought some level to the playing field. The squad looks so balanced, not just in color terms. And the emergence of "white" players like Parnell, Morkels etc has shown that "whites" if they work hard, will surely make it to the top.

Haha, finally some momentum to the innings.

Nowhere near enough though. Atleast these two are ensuring a respectable defeat. When was the last time we saw such an approach from Australia?

However, if it boils down to say, 120 in the last 15 overs, with a PP to be taken, and if these two are standing, then it can become interesting. We all know when Hussey Sr gets entrenched, he is extremely hard to get out.

Duminy is proving to be such a matchwinner. WAG. Time to start the appreciation society.
the tour 'proves' jack****e as far as the quota system is concerned.

quota system is, simply put, institutionalised racial discrimination. and unless you are one of those fellas who reckons the ends can justify discrimination of this sort (in itself debatable at best, and an absolute load of bollocks at worst) i don't really see how you can get behind this, or utter such an inane statement.

and if you are one of those fellas.. then GTFO.

You have simply no idea what you are onto.

The system was put in place to bring the backward communites to the forefront and it has worked like a charm. Sometimes, ends justify the means. Anyway, if you want to debate it,, better we take it to a seperate thread.

I cannot remember such a thrashing in an ODI series short of the days of the WIndies in their pomp.

Hussey D should be dropped from the side after tonight's performance. Has been an utter disappointment IMO.

BTW, Botha's action looks very dodgy.

exactly. institutionalised racism. you can call it all the fancy names you want, at the end of the day what they are doing (and you are supporting) is the slippery slope the apartheid government also went down to disenfranchise millions of south africans.

and no, the ends NEVER justify the means when it comes to gender/race based discrimination.

as far as working like a 'charm' is concerned, it's certainly worked like a charm when it comes to erecting a blockade against the campaign to make one's 'race' an inconsequential nonentity and sowing the seeds of racial resentment in the minds of young white men who otherwise would have laughed in the face of racism.

Haha so wrong. Sometimes such extreme measures are needed even if it is at the cost of a minority group, provided it is good in the larger interests of the nation.

Let's puhleese take it to the relevant thread from now.

Really this is the problem that all societies have in addressing racism.

There are two sides to the debate - the Left which say that you should temporarily use policy to tilt the balance in the favour of the minority by law, and the Right which say that racism is racism and each individual should be judged on their own merits.

I tend towards the latter, but there are a number in society who lean towards the former. Ultimately that's why we have elections and an open political system (in Australia at least).

And on that note can we turn back to cricket chat please :)
