Well Lee averages 40 against England, Symonds has never toured over there and Gilchrist & Hayden both failed over there last time. (as did Punter)

So who do you reckon we need?

South Africa not working the singles anywhere near as well as they did in previous games. Really don't seem that up for it at all.

How funny just saw that (the KFC poll) 68% of Aussies said that people should walk.. I wonder if it would be the same if Australia was batting?

And Slater just said that "Walking has never been part of the Australian game".. what a load of absolute crap.. we walked until the Chappell brothers.

Talking about the ODI side mate, not tests - Lee's ODI record is a good one - he's been among the best ODI sides around for a number of years now, Symonds would walk into an all time Australian ODI side, Gilly is Gilly, Hayden was MOTWC last time around and Ponting seems to look a handy ODI player to me as well.

Which is why I was comparing the players from last year's ODI side to this year's (mind you we lost the past two triangular series anyhoo - maybe it's not that much of a surprise).

For tests, Ponting obviously should be there (BTW, his 150 in the third test was a cracker), Lee less so, and no doubt they'll take SYmonds whether they should or not. Clarke is a much better player now than in 05 and will hopefully do well there.

Just hope S Clark is right for the Ashes now.

Yep, ironically Ian Chappell said he stopped walking when he asked a SA fielder if he caught the ball on a tour there. Fielder said "Yes", so Chapelli walked, only to be told later "You didn't ask me if it bounced first".

Always smile at that one, coz he strikes me as a bloke who would have been a ****.

I hope that Lee does well in England he is a decent bloke and really well liked over there. The rest will do him good. With Clarke as the other enforcer we might see a contest.

Punter doesn't like the swinging Dukes so we might be taking him (in the ODI's) just because he is the captain.. I expect Hussey to do well because of his extended English experience.

But I'd say at this point England would be favourites at home. It will be pretty evenly matched I'd say in the ODI's and in the tests England would have the edge (esp if Sidebottom is fully fit)

Another example as to why we'd Clarke so much if he were to make the permanent move to 1st slip with Haydos gone. Glad to see Hussey has taken that role, although I wonder if Clarkes thumb has played a part in that.

What like a settled pace attack, a geniune all-rounder and a budding all rounder, a settled opening pair, a good spinner and people actually pressing for places?? Oh yeah and one of the world's best batsman freed of the ceptaincy so he can fire?

Don't know what you mean.
