***Official*** South Africa In Australia

What's this whole idea about bowling Hilfenhaus, is he bowling that well, i am not watching the game atm..?

With only four bowlers to play with shouldn't Ponting use his genuine bowling options in shorter bursts, because he surely doesn't want to get to a point where is forced to bowl Dussey and Clarke' spell in one long stretch.

Anyways how is the pitch, anything WACA like about it or its just a rock solid brow coloured road with some cracks..?

Well South Africa didn't even win a single one day game against the poms last time.. what does that say for our lot?
They've been rubbish, particularly the middle/lower order and bowling apart from Bracken.....I'd be surprised if you find anyone who thinks otherwise.

Hilfenhaus isn't ODI standard.
What? He imo opinion is one of the best fast bowlers in either form of the game in Australia atm, he is still pretty inexperienced and i am sure he would get better with experience.

How would you say they would go against England if the ashes were next month instead of another saffie trip?

Tbh I've never been particularly impressed with the guy when I've watched him. Like you say he's got time on his side to prove me wrong but I don't see it right now.

It says one of their best ODI bowlers (Lee) is injured, that Clarke hasn't played and neither has Symonds, both of whom are quality ODI middle order players and, in Symonds case a more than handy bowler.

It says Hayden's retired and so has Gilchrist since last summer, so the specialist ODI batting line up has precisely 2 players (Ponting and Hussey M) in it from last year, one of whom, because of the injuries, is batting 2 places too high.

I'm talking about ODI cricket, and I'd expect Australia to win against Englands ODI team. Test Matches (I.E. The Ashes) are a completely different kettle of fish and has little relevance to the performance of this team.

As pasag said, I don't see what you're getting at, but I'm assuming you're just waiting to lure everyone into another argument about how we need a new Australia etc. etc.

Parnell is a real find for me I saw some of the U/19's world cup in Sri Lanka and he really looks like a great bowler in the making.. geniune swing bowler action a little bit like Alan Davidson

I was actually talking about the ashes tour not the test series itself.

So again how would Australia go against the England ODI side if they were to play tomorrow?

Parnell, Southee and Sangwan all stood out at the U/19 World Cup. Can see all three doing really well later on in their careers. Looking forward to seeing Parnell and Tsotsobe tonight.
