I think one good thing that come out of this is that it has got Kiwi fans interested in Aussie domestic cricket on more then just a surface level, even if it was just for a week. I beat you when we had more overseas players in 80s, it meant that a lot more fans around the world took note of the Australian domestic comps.

During the days when Australia had a lot of depth and there was plenty of grade crickets that were good enough to play State cricket sometimes higher but couldn't get a game due to strengh of sides. You didn't need overseas imports. I think now they add something extra rather then just taking a spot away from local players.

There is discussion now to see if McCullum can play some more FC and FRC games once the CH is over. Watch this space of McCullum flying over to play a Shield final. I know WA are looking at getting Gul back as well after the Sri Lanka series or inbetween.

Would be funny to see Gul play for WA given North criticised the redbacks earlier in the season for having Younis Kahn take the place of a local. 1-2 overseas players can't hurt.

Congrats must go out to Dirk diggler Nannes for getting an IPL Contract. He's been a player that I've thought had something very good about him ever since I saw his OD debut. So I'm happy for him.

Who'd he sign with?

Australian trio Phil Jaques, Andrew Symonds and Stuart Clark are all set to make their domestic returns this week for their respective states. Jaques (back), Symonds (knee) and Clark (elbow) all made their grade comebacks for clubs in Sydney and Brisbane.

Pretty annoyed with QLDs side tbh.

Davis and McCabe [sic] have started off tidely with QLD 0/0 from 2 overs.

We need an extra batsman in our XI, Perren will bat so slow this innings I reckon.

Good to see Qld have retained their specialist captain.

Dumbest field this by North. Allowing easy runs everywhere, no pressure being put on whatsoever.

Justin Coetzee finally into the attack. I was worried that he was going to be played as a specialist batsman again.
