Mate I have despised this team since 2004.. I suppose you can call me the opposite of your average Australian fairweather fan. I have been waiting years for them to get smashed. That's because we have and did have the replacements. The reason we've been dominant for so long is because we didn't really have an exodus. And I dont doubt that the new batch is ready but will need time.
Unfortunately, some people of your ilk just love opportunitism and getting on the back of the team.
What I tried to say when it was introduced, when people said it was pro-batsmen, just not as goodAWTA. Was always said that the power play rule would take a while for it to be applied right, reckon the rule-makers have got it absolutely perfect.
And even if they stuck to the all-rounder policy, fact is that Hopes is a class below a state team-mate let alone worthy of a place in the Oz team - Noffke is light years ahead but has had his card markedTrue, but the selectors blinkered themselves with the desire to find an all-rounder when they would have been better served selecting the best cricketers not the best all-rounders.
Must have enjoyed CH 07.Mate I have despised this team since 2004.. I suppose you can call me the opposite of your average Australian fairweather fan. I have been waiting years for them to get smashed.
And why would you want them to get smashed? Just seems dumb and being contrarian for the sake of it.Mate I have despised this team since 2004.. I suppose you can call me the opposite of your average Australian fairweather fan. I have been waiting years for them to get smashed.
We made up for it in the WIMust have enjoyed CH 07.
If you ignore the action (and that front-on looked absolutely horrible!!!), he is making a very solid case for inclusion in the test team in front of Harris
I watched Harris bowl alot in the recent Test series, and I thought he bowled quite well. It's what I've been saying all along....
...until Tahir is eligible.

Nope the arrogance of the side was very Un-Australian.And why would you want them to get smashed? Just seems dumb and being contrarian for the sake of it.
Wow...they were so arrogant......damn them to hell...Nope the arrogance of the side was very Un-Australian.
I suppose I am the embodiment of the tall poppy syndrome. And I am an Aussie by the way my Irish ancestor came out here on the third fleet.
So who else would you pick in the absence of Clarke and Symonds, maybe North could have been a choice, but can't see anyone else then him making it into the side, despite Warner making runs in the last ODI, i think perusing with someone like him with next to no experience is ridiculous, and Australian middle order' inability to make most of good starts provided by Marsh and Ponting has been main reason for Australia's woes.Any team that has all three of Hopes, Haddin and White in the top 8 deserves to lose heavily. Hopes appears to be selected as a specialist bowler now. Ridiculous.
I think this argument makes a lot of sense, though neither Duminy or Botha are good spinners, but they had done the basic things right and crippled any momentum Australia have had during the middle overs, and the Aussie middle order batsman, expect David Hussey have all been pretty clueless as to what to do against them.Originally posted at cricinfo
Aditya: "I disagree - I think there's enough talent in the Aussie middle order. But obviously the new players don't play too many good spinners in state cricket so they don't know how to work them around. They need to play more on the subcontinent or something to get that experience. Right now they're pretty clueless against spin, but give them some time, and they'll get better."
