*Official* English Football Season 2008-2009

The only one of them I could accuse of that would be Defoe TBH.
Someone wasn't paying attention. All Redknapp talked about once he left was how he'd turned us from a tiny club into a massive one all on his own with no help from anyone and just the spare change from down the back of his sofa. Degrading to the fans who forgave him after lying to our faces, frankly.

Incidentally, rather humorous article from F365:

Meh don't really get that argument. He wasn't available for cheap until the "Summer" and they needed him now for the second half of the season. People are just rubbishing City for the sake of it now.

Would actually agree with this. Yes, City could have gotten him cheaper in June but by then a host of big clubs, Real Madrid among them, would almost certainly have been sniffing around providing a more attractive proposition.

De Jong is a quality player, just 24 years old and plays in a position where City desperately needed to strengthen now and not in four months. Above all, City have the money to spare and don’t need to wait until his price goes down like other clubs. I thought £14m for Bellamy was crazy but this to me is an intelligent, top class signing.

Hull sign Jimmy Bullard for £5m. If I was a Hull fan I'd be over the moon with that. Hodgson's done a fantastic job at Fulham, but i think he underestimated this guy's value to the side.

Yeah, really fancy Hull to stay up now. Fantastic signing for them. Fulham must be short of cash.

Plus their team got a whole lot prettier now too. Watch all the chicks sign up for season tickets now.

Yea De Jong is a top-signing. It will be interesting to see how Hughes structures the centre of his mid-field now.

Just could'nt afford his wage demands apparently so had to get something for him now or he was going to leave in the summer on a free.

I obviously don't know the figures, but that's what I was referring to by "underestimating his value to the side". I think he's worth it, Hodgson didn't.

Harry Redknapp is pissing me off so ****ing much at Spurs. All he does is abuse his players and moan about how he's been given a **** team that are destined for relegation (as if he didn't know what the squad would be when he was offered the job). Wanker.

With Dunne out for 4 games I think Kompany might push back into Centre-Half and De Jong can replace him in midfield. He'll probably play alongside either Ireland or Zabaleta, depending on whether we're home/away and on Ireland's injury status.
