Ishant Sharma and Gambhir are two huge bonuses considering they not only emerged as World Class, but also filled the major holes in the Indian lineup for quite some time. A good opener to partner Sehwag without compromising on the runrate in all forms of the game, and a pace spearhead.
The only worry that should affect India could be whom to succeed Tendulkar. However Tendulkar looks in prime condition to last till 2011, so that leaves quite some time to groom his successor, who at present looks like Rohit Sharma. Laxman will be around for another 3 years. Dravid's replacement will be Badrinath who in all likelihood will contribute more than what Dravid's been contributing over the last two years.
Pakistan however lacks a solid opening combination. With the IC-exiLe of Mohd Yusuf, the middle order has only two guys to speak of, Misbah and Younis. Wicketkeeping is still a headache for them. Kamran Akmal has shown hardly the skill required of a test keeper though he is a good batsman. And among bowlers only Gul looks anywhere near Test class. That leaves a lot of gaping holes.[/QUOTE
Though agree with your point that Pakistan has more areas to fill, but calling Rohit Sharma as Sachin replacement is a joke,
Rohit has not produced the goods yet despite quite a few opportunities, he looks like another Ian Bell though he time to prove me wrong, again saying Badrinath will do better then Dravid is another silly assumption. Yes he might do better then current Dravid but do India want a no 3 who constantly averages 30?. Gambhir and Sehwag awesomeness has allowed India to bear Dravid failures but its not certain how long this golden peak for Sehwag and especially for Gambhir will continue especially on non sub-cont tracks.
Your points come across as foolish and without thought its like If I come across and say we don' have to worry about Shoaib's retirement and opening pair woes. Sohail Khan will be faster and more lethal, Ahmed Shezad and Azhar Ali will score more runs then the current openers. Yes they might just but there is lots of ifs and buts involved so its silly to argue based on it.
