I don't miss him one bit. Made all his runs in 2006 when we played three series against Zimbabwe, as well as series against Kenya and Scotland. Never made a run against a decent team, except for one test knock against Australia.
Horrendously out of his depth against quality bowling. The absence of our ICL players has prompted a couple of others to lift their game and we're all the better for it.

I rate Tamim higher but he was a bit of an anchor at the top of the order which is now absent. Playing Rahim at 3 just doesn't work IMO

we were 11/3, Mendis had 2 really good shouts vs Shakib but Doctrine was on point ball was pitched outsideleg and Shakib scored almost all of our runs 92 off 147

Playing Rahim at 3 is a bit silly. Ashraful should be doing it but he'd rather bat at five.

So basically the fourth best all rounder in the game, as I would say his stats are ahead of Bravo. Mitch Johnson would be close, just misses out on the runs I guess.
rasel is injured, shahadat was dropped due to his poor economy rate in ODIs in 2008, he wasn't even bowling out his full quota of overs, the selectors want him to go back to domestic cricket but they expect him back to the national team soon.Good to see Ashraful getting back into the groove of things as well.

40 with the bat and 25.90 with the ball.
Why are Rasel and Shahadat out of the team BTW?

Great stuff from the Bangers, but Sri Lankan cricket really seems to be in a sorry state, despite the rise of someone like Mendis, they came pretty close to losing a few ODI games to Zim in Zim, and if that wasn't bad enough now they have lost to Bangladesh, but then a lot of credit should go to Sakib, he and Mortaza are gun.

I am, for the last year our batting has been a disgrace. Tharanga is the biggest joke of an opener going around.

Ugh, woeful performance. Awful batting and awful bowling. Once Jaya goes, the batting will be hit hard as neither Sanga or Mahela are top class ODI batsmen (even compared to an ageing Sanath). Murali is on his last legs (and its increasingly showing) and Mendis is over-rated. Whither next, I wonder?
