its not an over-reaction, it has been downhill for the last year.
Lost ODI series to England and India at HOME last year
.Mendis and Jayasuriya's performance in the Asia cup final just glossed over a very very poor year in ODI's.
In either case there needs to be some changes made into this ODI team, but I am not really sure what can be done. The batting needs a major overhaul, starting with removal of Tharanga.
We (SL) have been poor ever since the world cup, lost to England, India at home WI away and Struggled to eat Zim away. Now this. Mostly due to our batting, its amazing how sanath still carries this team. Sakib Played a blinder though fair play to him.
Bowlers cant do much when you just score 147 in 31.

Mahmudullah to do something here. I don't mind him as a cricketer; I think he looks a lot better than Naeem Islam in both disciplines, despite the latter's awesome ODI stats.
