Yeah I too was going to pick Kapil Dev over Andrew Symonds. Perhaps I picked Symo too early, but he has been a standout ODI performer.

Fair enough GI Joe about the not outs..

Goughy is up now.
I would have taken Symonds if he was available.

I would have taken Symonds if he was available.
That's good to know! His Strike Rate does make him a very special player.

When I see Simon's team I do wonder if a bowler would have been a better selection, especially someone like Warney!

In a bit of a surprise, I'm selecting Saurav Ganguly

I knew that he was a decent ODI batsman (11,363 runs @ 41.02), but I didn't realise he was such a useful bowling option to boot (100 wickets @ 38.5, ER = 5.06)

Should slot him in at #6 in the line up.

Saurav Ganguly - (LHB 11,363 runs @ 41.02, RM 100 wickets @ 38.5)
Allan Donald (RHB 95 runs @ 4.31, RF 272 wickets @ 21.78)
Waqar Younis (RHB 969 runs @ 10.30, RF 416 wickets @ 23.84)

Surely Ganguly would open? I don't think it's that much of a surprise either as he is one of the best ODI batsmen ever (as evidenced by his selection so early in this draft!).

Oh dear, Ganguly was meant to be a vital part of my plan to have 3 batsmen function as two full bowlers. I've got Chappell, Ganguly is gone now, there's one left I have my eye on.

Bump to make sure pup sees this. This isn't going to be anywhere near as deep a draft as the Test one, gonna be all about getting the quality that's slipped...
