The problem with Arsharvin is that you're going to have to splash it out to get him, and he's relatively unproven and not that young. There's better options out there, though I think Wenger has been rebuffed for Ireland and Arteta, so maybe there isn't..

Yeah, he wouldn't be my first choice but creativity is still an area of concern.

Incidentally I thought this was an interesting article regarding Premiership clubs solvency.

According to that article the equity ratings of the divisions clubs are as follows:

The Equifax Table

98 Arsenal
93 Man United
71 West Brom
65 Tottenham
43 Blackburn
40 Manchester City
37 Sunderland
37 West Ham
26 Liverpool
--------- CLUBS BELOW THIS LINE TECHNICALLY INSOLVENT
18 Everton
17 Stoke City
10 Chelsea
7 Middlesbrough
5 Newcastle
5 Bolton
2 Aston Villa
2 Wigan
2 Fulham
1 Hull
0 Portsmouth*
* No accounts filed for Portsmouth at Companies House

Genuine LOL @ how Defoe has been moving over the past 2 seasons.

Looking forward to see if Downing finally gets to leave Boro & fullfll his potential, plus what others players Hughes can bring to Citeh to make, so as to start phase in Manchester becoming the city with two most powerful clubs in England.

Looking at Arsenal's mid-field woes now the Cesc is out for a while, (especially the need for a ball-winner). Losing Flamini was big, Wenger should have tried to keep him although i believe he wanted to leave anyway, since from the games i've seen with Milan this season, he has hardly played in centre of the park.

I remember seeing him play out @ right-wing all once (although he has shown such versatilty while playing for gunners i.e CL 05/06 playing @ LB). But clearly him sticking with Arsenal would have benefited both parties, its weird home some players think sometimes.

Yeah I'm not actually sure what he was thinking. It can't have been about more gametime, that wouldn't make any sense with Gattuso still present at Milan and basically no competition for his place at Arsenal. Perhaps he just really wanted to play in Serie A.

Yeah I'm not convinced, 15 million is a lot of money for a player who still hasn't totaly convinced. Yes he can score goals but there was a reason that he left Spurs a year ago, it was because he wasn't as good as Berbatov or Keane. While it can't be disputed the Defoe will improve Spurs in the short term I am sure there are a whole number of players who I think could do a better job for the same price. Don't know if he would want to join Spurs but Owen is twice the striker that Defoe will ever be.

So good to see Spurs dominante Burnley and win 4 - 1 after the giant killers defeated the disappointing London outfits Fulham, Arsenal and Chelsea.

Dominated to such an extent their own fans booed them off at half-time.

If ever a team and their fanbase deserved each other...

Redknapp to move to League One Portsmouth in two years and be lauded as the hero of Hampshire.
Twice bitten, thrice shy. Just as our promotion and our FA Cup run were all thanks to him, our eventual relegation will be thanks to his burning of money we didn't have (£7million on John Utaka? Who'd pay that now?) and his total lack of willingness to blood even the most promising of our youngsters unless faced with an injury crisis.

It's amazing how much clearer you see someone's actions when they're not in charge of your club. His constant media pandering will protect him from criticism at Spurs, despite the fact that they're still only two points from the bottom of the table, while the constant spotlight placed on Adams will ensure that Pompey are depicted as being "in crisis" while still in mid-table.

I'll be gutted when we get relegated, but to be honest, I can't ****ing stand the Premiership sometimes.

You'd rather your fans boo you at half time then sit around in silence, it shows passion and players certainly were motivated in the second half.

Im pretty sure Harry was not in charge of the amont of money given to him, that is a decision of the chairman and the owners not the manager. He also did some brilliant work in the transfer market, James, Cambell, Johnson, Diarra, Distin and Krancjar to name but a few. Sure some wern't so good (Utaka, Nugent) but the same can be said of any manager.

Obviously I understand that Portsmouth fans were angry at Harry leaving but it really is quite unjustified. He has done amazing things for Pompey and blaming him for a possible relegation (something I don't think will happen will be grossly unfair. I personally think his decision to leave was perfectly understandable, he had made Portsmouth into a mid-table club and won the FA cup, what more was there for him to achieve. Taking the spurs job is a great risk but whether you like them or not there is ambition and potential at that club.

Nah, it doesn't necessarily show passion. Just means they're a bunch of ****s

Also, I know it's only the Carling Cup, and there is another leg to go, but Lol at Man U

Pfft, there's no fun in ranting if you're gonna respond with a reasonable argument. :p

Goal.com reporting that Joey Barton is a potential target for Portsmouth, which would no doubt please Rubble :p
