Brilliant

So how's life as a frog?
Though the lack of tail sometimes gives me a complex.

Steyn rightfully awarded Man of the Match. I really hope Saffies don't rest anyone and go in for the kill at Sydney. Never the Australian soft underbelly so exposed.

Not sure if Aus should make wholesale changes. Sounds like a way to get destroyed.

I wouldn't be comfortable with 3-4-5 debutants in the side.

What are you talking about mate, Hauritz was as good as any of the three Aussie seamers, and as much as people don't rate Hauritz he has done quite decently in all the three tests he has played in, i think the real problem is that three seamers currently aren't doing the job consistently enough, and selectors should be working out who their best 3 quicks are rather than stuffing one more seamer in there.
Yea he bowled well here, i aint doubitng that. But no way looking long-term can Haurtiz or Krejza be picked as part of a 4-man attack. Thats obvious.

Krejza lacks control & Haurtiz doesn't spin it enough. Only if Watson where fit then you could play them as part of a 5-man attack.

So right now the best balance for the bowling attack has to be 4 seamers of contrasting variety in which Australia lucklily have. The excuse of over-rates being an issue, damn i dont want to hear that yo..

Do we need to play an allrounder? Looking at our current attack we don't have 4 bowlers who look likely to get 20 wickets so I guess we do need the extra bowler ATM.

Nah no way. McDonald is definitely a better Test prospect than ODI.
Well i have no way of being sure given i have not seen him. It will be interesting to see how the rest of you cats view his selection.

But based on stats although he is an international prospect, its obvious he isn't really an all-rounder that can be expected to make much of an inpact in either form of the game.

He's a Ginger!

Saw him bowl at the Adealide oval, keeper upto the stumps for his mediums, he is pretty accurate.

With the way that Hayden & an injured Lee have been performing, it's not as if debutants can do considerably worse. If anything, it is much more likely that the new debutants would run through the Saffies than with the 1st or 2nd test side.

Yeah that makes sense.

Funny Channel 9 didn't even bother to mention the biggest loss in recent cricket history in it's news update..

Australians will now go into the blame game/ignore it mode that we all love to do here..

No-one will give SA any credit we'll just blame the selectors.. I'm surprised Ricky didn't blame the pitch again..

We need a 3-0 loss so some of these idiots can pull their heads in and try and regain some interntaional respect & dignity.
The pitch was crap, and the selectors got it wrong, SA were very lucky that fellow shone that light in Hussey's face, as for the umpiring:ph34r:

I don't think the four man pace attack really makes much sense, the three seamers that are there in the team haven't done anything special to merit the selection of another seamer, and Hauritz has shown enough discpline in his bowling to support a three man pace attack given they bowl well too.

You might not like to hear the issue of the over-rates, but its a big issue for Ponting to deal with nonetheless.

Congratulations SA and SA supporters (not that the former will read this! haha)!

It'll be interesting to see what changes will come about for the next series. It's been great to be an Aussie supporter before they were winning and during the 16 years, now it'll be good to see what happens from here. The uncertainty is a little exciting, although I will probably have enjoyed the excitement of Warne, Mcgrath etc etc more when I look back on it!
