Mirpur: Dhaka* v Barisal
Barisal 125 (50.3) - Arafat Sunny 7-50
Dhaka 43-3 (16) - Arafat Salahuddin 3-5

The pitch and conditions must be terrible at Mirpur - Dhaka fielded just one seamer and Arafat Sunny opened the bowling, running through the Barisal lineup. Zero batting points for Barisal... advantage Rajshahi.

Rajshahi: Rajshahi v Khulna*
Khulna 255-9 dec (74) - Nazmus Sadat 59; Suhrawadi Shuvo 6-71
Rajshahi 7-0 (2)

Khulna denied Rajshahi full bowling points by declaring nine down. At one point they were 112-1 when Nazmus and Saghir Hossain (47) were going well together, but Suhrawadi Shuvo triggered a collapse of six wickets for just 34.

Sylhet: Chittagong* v Sylhet
Chittagong 278-5 (95) - Rezaul Karim 81, Masumud Dowla 61*; Golam Mawla 3-43

The most competitive cricket of the day came in this rather meaningless affair. All the Chittagong batsmen made starts, but none could produce a big hundred against a fairly lightweight Sylhet attack and wickets fell at regular intervals.

Do sides in Bangladesh attract many people in the grounds ?
I've seen moderate crowds in photos from the odd FC game... and by moderate I mean, as many as you'd expect at FC cricket around the world. The Dhaka Premier League club games, which will be played sometime in the New Year, attract bigger crowds.

In all honest though I'm commenting in what I've seen in a handful of photos - they may be very low. Any locals here able to fill me in?

Just interesting to see how many go to see their team. obviously, sitting in baking hot sun all day is hard.

Up here in Durham we get a good few through for all formats of the game.

The Club Season Starts on the 27th with T20's, probably be pushed back a week. So I'm going to wonder how the clubs are gonna spend there money.

I doubt any of them would spend money on Nat'l Team players as they're gonna be on International Duty

Club Cricket does attract Crowds, NCL not so much

EDIT: It's Being pushed back a month

Dhaka, Dec 21 (bdnews24.com) – The Bangladesh Cricket Board has finalised a pool of 17 cricketers for the ensuing season of the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League.

National Cricket League (FC) 2008-09, round ten, day two

Mirpur: Dhaka* v Barisal
Barisal 125 (50.3) - Arafat Sunny 7-50
Dhaka 175 (60.2) - Javed Omar 62; Arafat Salahuddin 3-18, Nasir Hossain 3-22, Talha Jubair 3-67
Barisal 111-2 (32) - Rony Talukder 67*

Barisal bit back on day two on a Mirpur minefield. Only Javed Omar made more than 23 for Dhaka, although they managed to gain a 50-run first innings lead (not that a first-innings lead looks like being decisive here). Barisal lost Nasiruddin for a duck early on, but Hannan Sarkar (38) rebuilt with Rony, before falling in the penultimate over to Marshall Ayub.

Rajshahi: Rajshahi v Khulna*
Khulna 255-9 dec (74)
- Nazmus Sadat 59; Suhrawadi Shuvo 6-71
Rajshahi 251 (63.2) - Suhrawadi Shuvo 55; Robiul Islam 5-68, Dolar Mahmud 3-52
Khulna 72-3 (25)

Rajshahi narrowly missed out on a first innings lead as Robiul Islam continued his superb form. Suhrawadi Shuvo found support from Khaled Mashud and Anisur Rahman (both 38) and Shabbir Rahman (44), but no-one could kick on to make a substantial score. Khulna began confidently, but Suhrawadi Shuvo removed Nazmus Sadat (23) and Robiul Islam Robi (27) and Saghir Hossain was stumped off the final ball of the day. Game on...

Sylhet: Chittagong* v Sylhet
Chittagong 382 (95)
- Rezaul Karim 81, Masumud Dowla 120*; Golam Mawla 3-64, Monir Hossain 3-97
Sylhet 121-0 (32) - Imtiaz Hossain 63*, Golam Rahman 55*

Captain Masumud Dowla's third and highest first-class hundred allowed Chittagongto amass a challenging total against Sylhet: Arman Hossain (41) and Sajjadul Haque (32) also made useful contributions. Sylhet then opened up in style, with Golam and Imtiaz rattling off a rapid, unbroken stand of 121, already the highest for the first wicket in this year's NCL.

Mirpur: Dhaka* v Barisal
Barisal 125 (50.3) - Arafat Sunny 7-50
Dhaka 175 (60.2) - Javed Omar 62; Arafat Salahuddin 3-18, Nasir Hossain 3-22, Talha Jubair 3-67
Barisal 265 (108.2) - Rony Talukder 67, Imran Ahmed 56; Ashraful Haque 5-71
Dhaka 14-3 (5)

Three very late wickets give this see-saw game another twist. Barisal's middle-order gave way to the Dhaka spinners as they slipped to 146-6 at one point. A stand of 79 between captain Imran and Arafat Salahuddin (43) put them back on track; Ashraful Haque knocked over the tail. Dhaka's target is 216; they require another 202 on the final day with seven wickets left. Barisal must now be favourites to take an outright victory.

Rajshahi: Rajshahi v Khulna*
Khulna 255-9 dec (74)
- Nazmus Sadat 59; Suhrawadi Shuvo 6-71
Rajshahi 251 (63.2)
- Suhrawadi Shuvo 55; Robiul Islam 5-68, Dolar Mahmud 3-52
Khulna 347 (105.5) - Fariduddin 57, Dolar Mahmud 65; Suhrawadi Shuvo 6-124
Rajshahi 23-1 (7)

Rajshahi face a tough ask against Khulna, requiring a further 329 on the final day, after a collective effort from Khulna pulled the match their way. Suhrawadi Shuvo took wickets at constant intervals, but all bar two batsmen made double figures. Dolar Mahmud smashed 65 from 52 balls, hitting 7 sixes. Jahurul Islam then fell shortly before the close. The title will be Barisal's unless Rajshahi can put together a stunning performance on the final day.

Sylhet: Chittagong* v Sylhet
Chittagong 382 (95) - Rezaul Karim 81, Masumud Dowla 120*; Golam Mawla 3-64, Monir Hossain 3-97
Sylhet 268 (84.4) - Imtiaz Hossain 95, Golam Rahman 55; Rubel Hossain 5-60
Chittagong 26-0 (15)

Sylhet threw away a strong position agaisnt Chittagong: after being 121 without loss at stumps on day two, they lost all ten wickets for just 147. The match seems destined for a draw.

National Cricket League (FC) 2008-09, round ten, day four

Mirpur: Dhaka* (12) beat Barisal (4) by 2 wickets
Barisal 125 (50.3) - Arafat Sunny 7-50
Dhaka 175 (60.2) - Javed Omar 62; Arafat Salahuddin 3-18, Nasir Hossain 3-22, Talha Jubair 3-67
Barisal 265 (108.2) - Rony Talukder 67, Imran Ahmed 56; Ashraful Haque 5-71
Dhaka 219-8 (76.2) - Mahmudullah 116*; Monoar Hossain 4-69

On a quite incredible final day, a brilliant hundred from Mahmudullah turned what appeared certain defeat for Dhaka into a two-wicket victory to deny Barisal the title. Resuming on 14-3, Dhaka lost Shamsur Rahman without adding a run to the score and four further wickets fell in quick succession to leave them 95-8. Enter Elias Sunny - batting unusually low at number ten - to join Mahmudullah (213 balls, 15 fours) in an unbroken stand of 124. Barisal were somewhat hampered by injury to Talha Jubair, their premier strike bowler. Barisal took only four bowling points from the game, rendering the eventual result of the Rajshahi v Khulna game obsolete.

Rajshahi: Rajshahi (5) lost to Khulna* (14) by 28 runs
Khulna 255-9 dec (74) - Nazmus Sadat 59; Suhrawadi Shuvo 6-71
Rajshahi 251 (63.2) - Suhrawadi Shuvo 55; Robiul Islam 5-68, Dolar Mahmud 3-52
Khulna 347 (105.5) - Fariduddin 57, Dolar Mahmud 65; Suhrawadi Shuvo 6-124
Rajshahi 323 (86.5) - Anisur Rahman 71, Hamidul Islam 54, Shabbir Rahman 72; Dolar Mahmud 4-82, Aslam Khan 3-42, Robiul Islam 3-81

Rajshahi went into the final day knowing that, with Dhaka struggling against Barisal, they had to chase down 352 to beat Khulna and secure the title. The middle-order produced a battling display, including maiden fifties for Hamidu and Shabbir, but eventually they were bowled out 28 short of their target. News of Dhaka's victory, however, meant that they still retained their title.

Sylhet: Chittagong* (12) drew with Sylhet (8)
Chittagong 382 (95) - Rezaul Karim 81, Masumud Dowla 120*; Golam Mawla 3-64, Monir Hossain 3-97
Sylhet 268 (84.4) - Imtiaz Hossain 95, Golam Rahman 55; Rubel Hossain 5-60
Chittagong 185-7 dec (69.2) - Arman Hossain 61*; Ezaz Ahmed 3-41
Sylhet 65-4 (11)

This meaningless rubber drifted into a draw, as the weather curtailed play on the final day.

Consistently low-scoring teams, you mean?

Mahmudullah keeps up his form. He must be given a shot at Test cricket soon. Dhaka Premier League transfer window opens some time in the next week or so, the usual chaos should ensue.

If you check the scorecards alot of List A debuts in Round 1

The packed fixture list was my first impression as well, but it's not too bad if you think about it. Essentially 10 games in 24 days, even if a day of one-day cricket is more exhausting than a day of first-class cricket, the bowlers have a reduced workload... it may help the players to have the cricket packed in, allows a bit of momentum to be built up (like we saw in the IPL).

And the number of debuts is hardly worrying - I haven't checked but I wouldn't have thought it would be much more than for the usual List A season opener. The 15 or so players lost to the ICL must be factored in and their replacements have mostly been young lads. We just need some bigger totals now...

reckon shuvo has a good chance of filling razzak's spot in the ODI team, that's if they're looking for a spinner to replace razzak, you never know with the BD selectors.
