There's things called "worthwhile sacrifices". I'd never want to get a 34-year-old batsman who was never that good anyway back for the sake of being burdened once more with two bowlers of such uselessness who I'd thought I'd finally, finally, finally, finally gotten rid of.

Obviously if I could have one without the other I would have, but I think we've already seen that Yousuf is tied to the ICL.

guys.. keep it clean. It is obvious a number of people here have no idea what is happening... Take the politics to OT.. This is about cricket.. And I have said why in the current climate, playing cricket in Pakistan or against Pakistan is not the best for India. Let there be discussions on that, and if not, just let the thread die.
You can't cherry pick discussions. The political ramifications were the driver behind the decision and it's ridiculous to suggest that you can seperate cricket and politics in this particular case.

The problem is not with political discussion.. It is because it is turning quite vitriolic... That is better kept out at the OT than here, at least IMHO.

In theory, it's best kept off CW full-stop. Vitriolic comments are specifically prohibited on CW, but it seems to have been decided that they're acceptable under certain circumstances here.

On the given topic, I support India not touring Pakistan but it has nothing to do with political reasons. I am sick of the Indian players playing non stop cricket from like forever. This break will hopefully draw me back a bit more into the game.

LAHORE: Sri Lankan Cricket Board has confirmed on Friday its team would tour Pakistan in the third week of January.

Director media Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Asif Sohail while talking to Geo News said Sri Lankan Cricket Board chairman Arjuna Ranatunga has made it confirm that Sri Lankan team would tour Pakistan in the third week of January.

Asif Sohail said Sri Lanka would play three tests, three one-day matches and a 20twenty match during the tour.

PCB spokesman said PCB is finalizing the schedule of Sri Lankan series, which would be announced likely within couple of days.

Political discouse is by its very nature vitriolic. It is an emotionally loaded topic. There will be a lot of disagreement - often quite emphatic. It's upto individuals to ensure they act in a mature manner - and that doesn't necessarily preclude volatile discussions.

There's a difference between attacking arguements and attacking people. I don't see how one can have a discussion without the former.

on topic, personally, I'd reckon this is actually a blessing in disguise for Pakistan cricket. It needs to be weaned off from its tendency to suck on India's tit at every given opportunity and the present fiasco will, hopefully, go a long way towards doing that.

I am not so sure, though... I understand that the passion and the interest levels match India's but the problem will be the money and revenue.. Will they be able to generate enough of it to stay good without having to rely on India?

And anyways, some of the comments I heard yest. evening from the PCB guys seem to indicate they see this as an unfortunate situation to which the BCCI has been pushed to by the Indian Government.. I still expect the relationship between the respective cricket boards to stay the same, unless someone comes out with stupid comments from either side.

There's something seriously wrong with this picture.
Hands are a bit dirty and the fingers are crossed in the wrong direction, but apart from that I can't spot anything.

(I am joking BTW - I deliberately picked that one for the six-fingers look).

Had to think twice before I realised what you were on about there...

Yes, I generally think of the thumb as... well, the thumb... and the fingers as the fingers.

If I get a broken thumb I don't think "I've broken a finger", I think "I've broken my thumb".

all of those people that you name..now depending on you who you said is playing victims..if you are calling Pakistani people terriosts you are death wrong.. now i don't disagree when you say most terriosts are trained and send to do atrocities from Pakistan..but those people represent only the most 15% of Pakistan.. do you think it is fair to call the whole nation as terriost just because of 15% population.. i don't think so.. the reason i call the rest as victims simply because they are not only the victims of dissemination by people like you and media but also are the one that are mostly like to get blown by socide bombers.. now here is the missed up part.. they lose their family in atrocities like this and plus they will be called terriost.. do you think it is fair.. i don't think so..if you were one of them (god forbbed) would it be fair with you i don't think so..

now if you are calling Pakistani government then.. i some what agree.. but if you are saying to Xuhaib and other Pakistani members to don't play victims.. why not.. obviously they are the victims of discriminations of you and other ignorant members in this forum.. it wasn't Xuhaib or anyone else from here this forum who did the Mumbai terriosim but yet why they have to take and bear your bad attitude..
