In many ways an interesting game that culminated in anticlimax. On the final afternoon, after the game had been delayed by a day so that floodlights could be fitted to the stadium, Khulna were left to score 135 in 30 overs - on a wearing pitch admittedly, but with still a good chance of a win. Instead, they chose the soft option of the winning draw. More promising were the performances of several junior batsmen on both sides: 18-year-old Mithun Ali hit a maiden ton for Sylhet, putting on 182 with Saikat Ali, 17. Amit Majumder (18) and Ashraful Aziz (17) then added 97 for Khulna's first wicket.

What could have been a testing target for Rajshahi turned into a facile chase, thanks to Jahurul and his second fifty of the game. The real damage however was done by Delwar Hossain, who returned a maiden ten-wicket haul. Rajshahi are now in pole position; Dhaka's title hopes appear gone.

A bizarre match. Khulna set about composing a challenging total, before wickets began to tumble left, right and centre. A brave rearguard from Faisal proved to be in vain as Khulna secured a big win.

Barisal slipped up, conceding a first-innings defeat to weak Sylhet, whose batting finally clicked. The point that Barisal were denied by Mithun Ali's declaration when nine down may prove vital. In the end, Sylhet settled for the first innings victory, with a conservative final afternoon declaration.

An intriguing day. Barisal decided to bat, then crashed to 4-3. Raqibul Hasan made 43, Nasir Hossain 49, Arafat Salahuddin 41, Talha Jubair 47. Nafees Iqbal 20 not out at the close for Chittagong after Salahuddin had Masumud Dowla caught behind for 24.

Khulna rattled along at over 4.5 an over, but no-one could convert a fifty inbto a hundred. Marshall Ayub's leg breaks included Tushar and Shakib among their victims. Shahadat Hossain bowled 11 expensive and wicketless overs. Dhaka then lost Javed Omar and Ayub within 15 balls, both to Ziaur Rahman. Mohammad Ashraful is 20 not out from 16 balls at the close.

Just a third of a day's worth of play was possible - but it was more than enough for Sylhet to severely damange Rajshahi's title hopes. Junaid Siddique made 10, Naeem Islam is 1 not out at the close.

Barisal moved into control on the second day as Chittagong's first innings never really got going. No-one made more than Yasin Arafat's 34. Talha Jubair, Saju Datta and Tariqul Islam all took two wickets. Nasiruddin (36*) and Hannan Sarkar (36) then pressed on in the final session. Barisal lead by 139.

Shakib Al Hasan finished with figures of 11-7-10-2, before Javed Omar did his usual nine-down declaration. Shakib is 34 not out overnight as Khulna kept up the run rate.

Talha Jubair then followed a first innings 47 with a 38-ball 45 the second time around. Masumud Dowla and Nafees Iqbal fell early for Chittagong, who face an uphill struggle to save the game.

Shahadat Hossain and Mahbubul Alam were both expensive. Robiul Islam removed 'keeper Enamul Haque early on in Dhaka's chase, before Ziaur Rahman claimed the wickets of Marshall Ayub, Mohammad Ashraful and Mehrab Hossain in the space of 12 balls. Javed Omar made an upbeat 76, while Nadif Chowdhury (26*) was offering helpful support to Mahmudullah at the close.

A combination of Rezaul Karim's maiden first-class hundred and bad light ensured that Chittagong escaped defeat at the hands of title-challengers Barisal. At one point Chittagong were apparently safe, but 269-3 became 286-8 in the space of seven overs. Darkness however intervened and Barisal were left with only nine points from their efforts.

There was no avoiding defeat for Dhaka however, who capsized to a heavy defeat, despite Mahmudullah hammering 152 from 201 balls (16 fours, 1 six). There were more wickets for the in-form Khulna seam attack.

Again, play was heavily interupted by the weather: it began 30 minutes late and ended half-way through the afternoon session, depriving Rajshahi of the chance of a shock victory. Skittling Sylhet for just 127 did however give them a healthy innings lead, which bizarrely gave them one more point from the round than Barisal.

Nah, all banned and it's really hit the NCL circuit this year.

Incidentally, Rajshahi now lead Barisal by 3 points going into final round, in which Rajshahi play Khulna and Barisal play Dhaka.

riyad scoring runs and making a case to be brought back to the national side. a few of the national batsmen are making runs which is good to see (raqibul, naeem, imrul, shakib). got some good pacer prospects with delwar hossain, ziaur rahman, sumon saha, rubel hossain, robiul islam, subashis roy, sajidul islam. even the keepers are making runs with jahurul islam (though he's not keeping much this season) in the top 5 highest run scorers this season and mithun ali getting a century and couple of half centuries. some of the spinners are doing a good job with shuvo and nabil samad topping the bowling most wickets lists and the young allrounder nasir hossain is doing alright for his first FC season.
