Knights all out for 430, pretty good effort in all. Now lets see how Southee goes against the Wizards.

Are those statistics just in the opening position? Otherwise whats happened to Jones' double century for Auckland against the West Indies?

Interesting. The CD so called flat track bashers didn't lose a wicket on the green pitch yesterday but lost lots today on a flat pitch. Damn it, the only consolation is Bahnz has less of his msiery evidence against CD.

Sinclair is a gun. He said on radio that he's not looking for another call up, don't think he even wants one and fair enough, he's had enough of the rotation cycle.

Good on Williamson, finally ND have found someone other than Flynn who can actually bat (James Marshall doesn't count, he's too dire).

Otago going great guns, Broom scoring some more runs. Yusss.

I really can't see Sinclair hanging around for much longer. He's gotta be sniffing around for an ICL contract at his stage in his career.

i would perfere sinclair play in the ipl......... cause if he plays in icl it well affect him if his team make to the 20/20 champions trophey because its been delayed a year there are now 12 position availible not 8 so i expect a position will be made availible for a nz team...

Athlai made a list of openers so Ive just made a list of other batsmen of note. I chose them on how often theyre talked about so its not about selection and there may be a few others Ive forgotten or left out.

Few things of note. Greg Hay having a terrible start to the season. Peter Fulton doing well, along with Broom.

Batsmen of note. Averages 2008-9 Average

Greg Hay. 1, 6, 12, 11 7.5
C De Grandhomme. 49, 20, 11, 0, 43* 30.75
Peter Fulton 27, 64, 45.5
Corey Anderson 45, 88* , 3, 26 , 34*, 5 50.25
James Marshall 12, 0 , 15, 33, 35, 105*, 0 33.33
Kane Williamson. 82, 23, 73, 5, 22, 0, 98 43.1
Greg Todd 29, 31, 4*, 0, 74, 98 47.2
Neil Broom 54, 140*, 21, 60, 0, 60 67
Scott Styris 1, 28, 0, 71, 1 20.2
M Sinclair 11, 58, 101, 22*, 108, 52*, 164 103.2
+D de Boorder 16, 11, 19, 73*, 28 36.75

Probably more interesting now that Taylor is injured.

Good list, and a nice selection of batsman.

Yep, not surprising to see Guptill make an impact as soon as he comes back to FC cricket, especially on that pitch..the bloke is class.

Kane Williamson has also taken 3 wickets for ND, handy scalps too...Myburgh, Stewart and Van Wyk.

If Taylor can't play in the second test who would his replacement be? The likely choice I guess is Oram, but I hope like hell they go with a specialist batsman, in which case I think Broom deserves a crack.

Gillespie goes and Mills takes his spot.
Oram comes back, and either Sinclair or Broom to take up Taylors.

Feel a bit sorry for Gillespie tbh. He's deserved 1 or 2 wickets. Though, I wouldnt be overly concerned if he got dropped for Oram with Broom coming in.

I'm disappointed Boult got dropped from the ND team, what is the reasoning behind this?
