I am actually quite optimistic for this current WI side, whether they actually go on and fulfil the potential and build on the experience they are gathering, remains to be seen.
The bowling attack will be a handful for NZ, Jerome Taylor is finding a little more consistency while I hope there is more to come from Fidel Edwards. His pace and swing will trouble batsman, and while he will leak runs, his wicket-taking value is still present.
Daren Powell must gain more control. Can bowl in the high 80's (mph) but must regularly hit that back of a length to make him a more difficult proposition, and with Bravo, who offers control, it's not the worst attack around. The lack of a quality spinner still hinders them.
The batting lies heavily on Chanderpaul, everyone is aware of that, and he carries it very well. Top class. Sarwan and Gayle are also more than useful, but more consistent contributions from the rest is necessary. I would personally employ two all-rounders (ie Hinds.R. and Bravo) to give the batting a bit of depth, ultimately having Ramdin come in at 8. Decent keeper for me.
