**Official** New Zealand in Australia

Little for the bowlers, easy runs for the batsmen. Boring cricket all round. Even the most amazing Adelaide match in 06/07 was only good right at the end when England decided to collectively throw their wickets away.[FONT=&quot]

Even the last match between India and Australia was a tiring draw. The pitch is sooooo flat that even Sehwag got a hundred in the 3rd innings.

What the hell is going on with Beau Casson?

What was the point in blooding him in the West Indies if you're subsequently going to ignore him and favour Cam White, Jason Krezja and Nathan Hauritz?

well for some reason CA felt that he wouldn't suit indian conditions and then his crappy form came along so thats why he hasn't being picked.

When did you go from alright to an out and out idiot troll?
Bit of spite but it’s a fair jibe after all the unsubstantiated Ryder is awesome stuff we have had recently. You build them and inevitably they will get knock down if they **** up.

Xuhaib has been trolling around the issue alot though. Hence him being called out on it, which is fair enough.

Ha, the spinner's role in the Oz test side is getting more like the drummer in Spinal Tap with every passing test. I suppose Krezja injured himself in a freak gardening accident?! :p

Seriously tho, Hauritz? A tad left-field?

Unfortunately they could be bowling on a road and it will still be a balance between bat and ball with our current batsman, luckily they have youth on their side so can only improve. Hopefully the new coach will get the swing at everything mentality out of their heads.

Cunning from the Australia selectors. If they picked a spinner who was any good New Zealand might not bat like prank batsmen against him.

Hes a great talent but hes only played 3 or 4 tests. Give him a break. Its not often NZ gets a good talent. Hes as talented as Taylor IMO and with a bit of experience he will be a very good player.

As far as NZ yesterday, It was disappointing most of them played poor shots and got themselves out but a wee bit heartening that a few of them ( At the GAbba and here) lok like they can compete. Southee, Taylor, Ryder, and the rest of the bowling attack did well. I dont think anyone expects NZ to beat Aus, especially in Aus, especially with a bunch of rookies, but its good to see they are competing and some are showing a bit of skill.

I wonder if we had the guys from 2 years ago in the side. Fleming, Astle, McMillan, Styris, Vincent, Franklin, Bond, and Oram, if we would have done any better. These guys got beaten pretty badly in Aus too. I think only Bond and Fleming would have made any real difference. Maybe Oram instead of Elliot in the last game.

But my point is, for a bunch of rookies they are not doing too bad, and when they get to 20 test matches or so they should be better players. Im pleasantly surprised that we are even competing.

Best to leave it unsolved, tbh.

Anyway, I'm headed into the game today. If you're watching on tv, look for the big guy in a Redbacks top who looks like he's ready to join the cause and bowl in case one of the pace bowlers gets injured......

I think they have had chances to secure themselves now and should have pressed on especially on this pitch where everyone is supposed to cash in batting wise. I have a feeling that this score that may be posted may not even be competitive on this pitch considering the batting conditions. Besides most of it was batsmen's mistakes, how often will the Australian batsmen make mistakes? Let's hope that Vettori and McCullum can knuckle down and post over 400.
