Haha, bit of a generalisation, I poured a good 'un in my time.

See, I don't think it tastes awful in cans either - some taste better than others, and I want an explanation!

Been drinking Murphy's tonight. It's like when Warne used to miss a game and you had MacGill playing for the Aussies instead - good and all, and hell, the figures look better (£2.60 for 4 cans). But you can't wait to have the real thing back.

edit - that was to Uppercut, I should know better than not to quote in a tour thread

 Good comparison!

Maybe the cans aren't that far from the Guinness you get here then, but in Belfast it's extremely rare to see someone drink canned Guinness. If you go into a pub there's likely to be about 60% of the men there drinking Guinness, but its off sales are so low that a lot of places don't even bother to stock it.

As PEWS and I have previously stated, looks like Hauritz will play. Wish him the best, but don't think it will go well for him at all. Can't see him taking Top 7 wickets. Especially if he goes for some stick early and then we'll see DART HAURY.

Weather is relatively cloudy but fairly well broken up. Some low cloud but fairly wispy. The rain will likely stay away but it's still warmish so I'd suggest there'll be some serious movement in the air early on.

Dunno what clocks you guys are working from, though; game time is 1hr 20m away.

I seem to remember someone else making that prediction about an Australian spinner recently. Went well.
That'd be me. In fairness, this pitch won't turn much and Haury gets far less rip on the ball than Krejza. But yeah, gun prediction.

12 midnight GMT.

And yeah, the Guinness is most certainly better in Ireland, as it doesn't travel at all well. The same reason it tastes so much worse out of a can. I have it on good authority that the Australians make a fizzy, sticky black froth and label it as "Guinness".

I'm not a Guinness drinker, but having worked behind the bar of an Irish pub i can safely say that the Guinness-pouring abilities of the English are shocking. Often they just pull it like it's a pint of lager and hand a fizzy brown glass of dick to the customer. More often they leave far, far too much to trap and end up with a similar effect but to a lesser extent. I have seen someone pour a pint of guinness properly once, and when i congratulated him on it he reminded me that it was because i had told him how to do it a week before.
**** me.

45 degree angle, pour to the top of the Guinness label, let it settle, push nozzle back, finish pint, hand to customer.

From Cricinfo:
Hours of play:
10.30am start, Lunch 12.30-13.10, Tea 15.10-15.30, Close 17.30
Current time: 09:46 local, 23:16 GMT
Ah, that'd be why. Why the 10:30am start? TV reasons?

Either way, bat first. The cloud will break up by lunch.

Or at least I hope so because I have a flying lesson later......

I called Krezja to take seven or more in the first innings and he did.

If Hauritz bowls well in this Test, please, hand my arse to me on a plate.

Oooo, some low-lying cloud literally just came over. Bowling first would have just gotten a whole lot more tempting for whoever wins the toss....
