Midge Johnson to take a bag here. Has the right combo of speed and movement to do well in these conditions.

I'd have batted too but it's a much tougher call than it ordinarily is in Adelaide.

Johnson movement? Perhaps after 40 overs...he's gun barrel straight with the new ball.

Vettori is far and away the best tosser in the game.

my prediction:

40/3 after 17 overs.

150/6 after 48.

255/10 at end of day.

Fulton scores 70 odd. Johnson gets a four for.

There are other forms of movement than swing, ya know. And in these conditions, you'd have to hold the ball cross-seam and sandpaper both sides not to swing it.

Granted, he may get some seam movement, but I wouldnt expect it to be a lot, considering he scrambles the seam big time on release.

Clark still easily the danger man for NZ.

Yeah, I'd give Clark the new cherry myself.

In all seriousness, he should cut his run and bowl mediums, would be lethal I reckon.

Disappointed I'll never get to see Vettori do the Haka

Also, who the hell is the bloke murdering the NZ anthem

Clark will definitely get the new cherry. Johnson will bowl exactly the same with the new ball as he will with the 15 over old ball, whereas Clark will likely nip the new ball around a bit more. A big change from last summer, now I actually want my batsmen facing Lee!!

Funny story from yesterday; an English 'quick' playing for a local side here got to be a net bowler for McCullum, let rip with a bumper first ball that got past his neck (not really difficult with McCullum). Started trash-talking him than charged in next ball. Rather than intelligently bowling a good length ball or something, bowled one in exactly the same spot which McCullum sent into orbit followed-up by "Fetch, doggie."

Sounded more like 'fitch' but was a funny moment nonetheless.
