Would prefer it if you didn't refer to Adelaide as part of Australia.

It's insulting to all of us.
We're not real thrilled about being associated with the descendants of convicts either, pal.

Do you Eastern staters have to lock up your bread at night in case someone steals it? Have always wondered.

They can steal it all they like, being a rich Eastern-Stater I have plentiful stocks of bread.

Is it only the Eastern Staters that can legitimately be called "crims"?

Don't know anything about the draining qualities of the Adelaide Oval, but hoping its as good as the Gabba

The paper today said that in the nets the Kiwi bowlers were given new balls and told to go for their lifes. Fulton was hit twice and Southee smashed How in the head with a bouncer. A "glazed" How wanted to bat on but Braces sent him on his way. Good to see the bowlers got some revenge. Though I think a few others deserved whacks more than Fulton, atm anyway.

Also McCullum swallowed his pride and volunteered himself to no.7 to give Fulton a decent batting spot. Good stuff, though he still thinks he's a no.5.

I can't believe I ate the whole thing
Most Tests we've played in ages this summer TBH.
We'll play 12 this year, if I'm not mistaken.

Actually means when there's a 'most runs' or 'most wickets' in a year list, our guys will actually be on it.

I mean, somewhere near the middle, but better than not making at all due to not enough games played.

Not a lot mentioned in this thread about hayden's hundredth. A great achievment by anyone's standards. Reckon it'd also be a good time to retire if he makes a big one, but he won't.

Might be rained out today, although should get some play tomorrow
No chance. Full day today, showers in the morning only. Just looking outside my window, 10 mins walk from Adelaide Oval and it's starting to clear up already.

They're pretty good, actually. Years ago, we had severe rain late in the day against England (when Gatting got his miraculous ton) and still managed play afterwards at about 7pm.

A source of mine at the oval has told me the pitch is green, green, green. Hope the openers are prepared for some fun, especially since it'll be cloudy all day and possibly all weekend.

You better be right Top_Cat...i'm in for the long haul in this test. Iain O'Brien's blog has inspired me to back the team to the death (though, I would have done that anyway). But i'm really banking on something special in this test. I reckon our batting CAN stand up, Ryder, Taylor, Fulton, How, Flynn, McCullum all have runs in them, they just have to get in the right headspace, especially the last 3.

NZ to win the toss and bat first, put on 425 all out, mark my words!

Yup, Hoping we bat first too & we take a leaf out of Flemings 2001 side in the Perth test.
