Gallas is a douche: official

From the BBC.

Billy, Billy, Billy.... :-O

Sad to see our dirty laundry aired so publicly. Couldn't see Tony Adams or Patrick Vieira doing that. **** wants a good long look in the mirror.

Just stupid, stupid behaviour. If I were Wenger, I'd strip him of the captaincy and sell him - there's no other way to solve a problem like that, given how unpopular Gallas is going to be in the dressing room now. It's only going to serve to make things worse, coming out and openly criticising the team you're supposed to be captaining - also, it highlights how poor Gallas' leadership is, that he hasn't been able to motivate them to better things. Idiot.

100% agreement. I was pretty astonished he kept the armband after his meltdown at Brum last season; sitting on the pitch having a mardy-arsed strop was the exact reverse of what we needed from our captain at that point. Wenger seems to have a blind spot where Gallas is concerned.

He's a good, if somewhat overrated defender (not quite big enough for the centre-half he sees himself as) with a massive attitude problem whose value is only going to go down at his age, so we should get rid ASAP.

Gallas isn't a great defender by any stretch, but good luck to the Arse if they sell him. Concede enough as it is and I doubt one of their bench players/14yo's will do as good a job.

Well, yeah, but we need a new centre-half, keeper & ball-winning midfielder regardless of Gallas's staying or going.

As much as I despise Mourinho, he knew what he was doing by playing him at left back. Reading the blog on arseblog. Sums up my thoughts entirely on this.

What hacks me off even more is the fact that the performances of Gallas himself since joining Arsenal (whilst he hasnt been on the physio table) have been pretty damn poor and substandard, he needs to take a good hard look at himself in the mirror. I think he's a decent enough player but I can't really see any way back for him after this, he has to go.

Heh, if Wenger could catch the guy smoking and still find a way to defend him I doubt this would do much to change status quo.

Hmm, whether Wenger wants to get rid or not might not really come into it though, the fact of the matter is that half the dressing room are likely to be harbouring some serious angst about this entire thing, and the spirit and atmosphere amongst the squad must be awful at the moment...how he can continue to stay there beyond the end of the season now....

Well all coaches in all sports have their own inexplicable mancrushes. For Arsene I think Gallas and Eboue are his along with a couple of others. Something tells me he's too stubborn to admit defeat and cut his losses. It'll get worse before it gets better imo.

Agree that it inevitably will get worse before things start to improve, just a shame he couldnt save this stupid outburst till nearer the end of the season, just dire.

Backs up my 'secret agent sent from the rent boys' theory. Just like Commoli was sent to Spurs and did his job wonderfully.

Gallas just saying what a lot of people have suspected all along.
The fact that he's the worst offender of the lot is what irks me tbh. He's the one who pulled out of a challenge against Fulham and let Hangeland score, the one who lost Cousin to score at the Emirates and the one who decided to go cry in the middle of the pitch against Birmingham instead of defending the penalty that lost his side 2 points. Then he tells his side they should be braver? Heh, he's the captain and there he is throwing the rest of the team under the bus so he can get some heat off himself.

Wow, just wow. Sell now.

Or maybe he's got an autobiography coming out today and wants it to sell for as much as possible?

"First Arsenal, now France. Outspoken defender William Gallas has spoken in a new autobiography about player tensions within France's squad that crumbled this year's European Championship.

Gallas doesn't name the fellow national player with whom he argued, but he identifies him as "S'' and says he played in midfield. French sports newspaper L'Equipe indicated that Gallas was referring to Samir Nasri, the midfielder who now plays alongside Gallas at Arsenal."

.."'Are you speaking to me? Who do you take yourself for? You're only 20 ... I am not your friend,''' Gallas says he told the player.

"'I'm not your friend either,''' the player responded.

"Straight away, I see red,'' Gallas adds.
